I tried the foot pads for a couple of months - I was not impressed.

I have worked in Assissted Livings for 10 years 3 of those as an Administrator, it has always been mandatory to flush medicines down the commode. A Nurse has to have a witness and yes families are forced to sign off [ proves staff haven't taken them ]. Many residents are taking 15 to 20 medications ! No wonder they are toxic and die. We are all on this planet together what goes around comes around.Current practice needs to change especially with as many Assissted Livings going in all over this country.When a resident passes away all medications are disposed of this way ocassionally they may be returned to the Pharmacy but usually the resident is still alive and may have a medication change. Just a note of interest Residents I admit over the age of 90 very seldom come in on Medication.

I want to point out in regard to filtering water, that if you filter out too efficiently you will remove minerals that are not necessarily harmful that our bodies over centuries have adapted to and made use of. After all, you could drink distilled water (has no taste and so seems to taste dreadful) but then you have to taqke as a supplement the minerals that you would normally be getting from the water in your area or end up with a deficiency! I have found a minimum sort of solution (that I can afford on a SocSec check) is either a filter on your kitchen counter, so you can get filtered water for drinking (your pets as well as yourselves), cooking, brushing teeth; or a freestanding pitcher withbuilt in filter -- cleans water when you fill it up; my son has one contains about 2 quarts, sits in fridge. Costs about $5-6 per filter -- life of filter depends on how much you drink; he finds it reasonable; the kitchen counter one comes in various sizes, I have one for 40 gallons and use 2 filters/year. Life on this planet never was cheap, we only thought it was because we didn't take account of ALL the costs. Think of the cost of a 99 cent hamburger, and then remember that now there is 20% about less oxygen in our air than there was say 30-40 years ago after you know who has pretty much destroyed the Amazon rainforest.. So how cheap really is that Big Mac?

I've been distilling my water for many years, add baking 1/8 teaspoon of baking soda per gallon to make it more alkaline (distilled water is too acidic).

As far as drinking rain water - it does sound like a good idea, but all those chemtrails (another topic altogether!) who knows what might be in that!

Several people have mentioned minerals, but the only minerals that are good for the body are the ones from plants, not the same as those found in water (i.e. iron found in vegetables as opposed to iron from an iron pipe).

Does anyone know anything about drinking alkalinized water? Also, Dr. Mercola recommends an RO system but other natural health doctors recommend distilled water. any thoughts? I need to make my body more alkaline and I heard RO water is actually acidic. If anyone can diret me to research, I would appreciate it.

When my dad died at home with hospice 6 years ago, I HAD to go with the nurse to the bathroom and FLUSH all of the narcotics. She said it was mandated by law and I had to sign the form that they were disposed of "properly".

We use a Berkely water sysyem. this is the first time i heard of adding salt to the water. we do have rock salt lamps that clean the air. where do we find more information on the value of adding the Him.salt? Gloria

As part if my educational program a couple years ago, I took a beginning pharmacology class. One of our assignments was to find an article related to the course material and present the content to the class. I chose an article similar to the one in today's newsletter. The class reaction? "I'm going to start drinking more water so I can get the benefits of all those drugs for free!"

There are definitely different ways of viewing the world...

ajlopez91 i'm with you on the money thing i can't afford to eat as good as i'd like and people say pay now or pay the doctor later but the sad thing is we have so little that we get free medical.

What would you suggest for a person who has to drink distilled water? We are not aware of any method that allows my daughter to drink water from anything other than plastic jugs. We would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

I live in Alberta,Canada and although the information you provide is mostlly based in the U.S.A. Water pollution is wide spread . Since Fluoride was introduced here I have develped Thyroidism I do everything possible to avoid this chemical but find this impossible. I have purchased a table top purification that (if true)eliminates a high percentage of water pollutants, but the one I would like to eliminate Fluoride is still in my drinking water. Is it any wonder we are being poisoned by chemicals when large factories are always built near waterways, golf courses near rivers and lakes. Now I read about all the other garbage being dumped. I feel sorry for my grandchildren being exposed to these chemicals from the very start of their healthy lives. Is it any wonder that so many are being diagnosed with cancers and other debilitating illnesses. I know I'm fed up with these chemical and pharmaceutical companies, will our governments do anything , I doubt it. Thanks Dr. Mercola for giving me all this free information At least I can try to eliminate some of the toxins present in my water.

I currently just use tap water filtered through your typical Brita water filter pitcher. I carry an old glass OJ bottle for drinking my water and I always add AlkaLife drops as well. I'm interested in RO water, but I understand that it supposedly creates "dead water." Is this true, and if it is, what method might better filter the water without making it "dead water."

I'm considering catching rainwater to run through my filter pitcher, hoping that it will be better.

And I've never tried distilled water with Himalayan Sea Salt. How is the cost and taste of that method?
