Not really a car commercial but it uses many cars to deliver the message.

It begins with a long line of cars driving on a winding road. Interior shot of young kids doing what young kids do. The narrators says.

"Every year six thousand teenagers go for a drive,.......... and never come back."

As the last car goes by you see a young girl look back at you with the innocents of youth. I watch her as she disappears, never to return and feel empty inside.

I wonder. How many retakes and dented cars did it take to make that commercial? No matter....it was worth it! Can't sit still when watching...must move to the music.

My most favorite commercial (of the moment) is the puppy singing "There ain't no bugs on me." Although I don't use dangerous chemicals on my pets, which is what is being advertised, the faces on those puppies keeps me chuckling all day.

Didn't agree with you on the Coke commercial -- but, hey, that's my opinion, it ain't life or death here.

But this car commercial is the BOMB! Love it! ALMOST made me want to get a Gemini (no matter how old) until I realized that it's all about the drivers. They were absolutely fantastically PERFECT! Makes me want to learn how to REALLY drive. :-] -sigh

The Coke commercial - what exactly are they selling? I see alien life forms creating my drink in a non-hygienic environment. Yuk! The car commercial - definitely talent there, and does that car ever handle well! Where can I buy one?

the coke ad is an err derr! ok nifty graphics, but.so what.

the car one is certainly clever, i do not have a tv, so don't see many ads, a real pleasure!:-) there were some amusing and very stunt oriented toyota ads here is aust a few years back. also the Holden ads were usually rather good.

as to the question "why cant real products" do this..

umm, cos they save the money (wisely) and the product doesnt need hype like this, if a health food used this sort of daft ploy, i would be very dubious about the quality of the product. it would repel ,more than entice me, to consider buying in fact.

if you liked that music doc, suss out Shania Twain shes fluffy, but the music is very catchy.:-)

After 3 years of following your newsletter and your website (and so glad I do!), I finally register to comment... because of a car commercial!!! Never could imagine it was going to happen like that!! Well, the video is a blast, so cool, I totally agree with the description, worths several plays for the music as much as the images. Really amazing, a work of art, thanks for sharing. (Oh, and, perhaps I also like the video because I am a gemini too. Rock on!! ;-)
