The Doctor who diagnosed me placed me on Metformin, and also wanted to put me on a blood pressure drug, say my blood pressure was way too high - it was only about 5 points above the 'new' normal. I did take the metformin though. Later I contracted MRSA, which ended up nearly killing me, and between the hospital's "diabetic diet" and the infection, my pancreas was so badly damaged that my blood sugar remained out of control for a long time. Mind you, by then I had already figured out that the doctor I was seeing at the time was a quack and a pill pusher. She had more reps from Big Pharma in her waiting room than patients most times that I went in for an appointment.

Well, fast forward a year, and I was still not doing well. My new doctor was bugging me about BP meds, and I kept refusing. He also had put me on two additional drugs to control my sugar. Nothing was working, and my fasting sugar was routinely in the 300 and 400 range. I'd had enough. I started nixing things out of my diet, whole food groups at a time, and working with certain supplements and herbs to get things under control.

I'm happy to say that within a few days of trying a new combination, I quit all of my meds cold turkey, and my sugar dropped 100 points within 24 hours of stopping them! I have found that any processed wheat or rye product is damaging to my pancreas(via Dr. Mercola's wonderful newsletters). After ceasing all intake of that stuff, and beginning to use Termeric, bitter melon, and cinnamon, as well as a few other healthy herbs and supplements, I feel a thousand percent better now thanks to not listening to my doctor. Also, once I stopped the Metformin, my BP came down. I found a claim during some rather intense research that Metformin causes lethal heart attacks. I'm not certain, but I can say it elevated my BP, and my mother, who was on it for 12 years, just had 5 heart attacks in 3 weeks. So it may be true.

Thank you both Dr. Mercola and Dr. Rosedale for making this information accessible and for your dedication to finding the Truth and sharing it with all.
