I just brought some home from Mitsuwa in Arlington Heights, IL. The flavor/texture takes some getting used to, but the Shirakiku brand includes tiny packets of a spicy mustard and an umami/vinegar...adding those help alot.

Nonetheless, would like to comment that, notwithstanding the information contained about natto being a natural source of vitamin K2, the featured product "Cardio Essentials Nattokinase" reports that "an important manufacturing process was developed to remove virtually all of the Vitamin K2 -- eliminating this potential adverse drug interaction with warfarin".

So, the nattokinase contained in "Cardio Essentials" is NOT a source of Vit K2.

This vitamin can be acquired, though, from the same labs ("Momentum Health Products TM") in their pure form "Vitamin K2" capsules.

But, ideally, it would be great to have Nattokinase in its original form, with all its Vit K2, instead of having to buy two separate products and have to take two (more) capsules, isn't it?

Does any one know if the culture that forms natto is the same as what is used for tempeh?
