But this condition that we associate with vomiting and diarrhea really isn't the flu at all. In fact, "stomach flu"

re: What To Do If You Catch The "Stomach" Flu

I would like to offer two suggestions for stomach flu and nausea, from any cause, which my family has used. The first is a tea made with equal parts slippery elm bark (shredded, not powder), catnip and anise seed, in equal parts. We just used a heaping tsp. per cup of boiling water, and steeped it for 10 minutes, then strained and added honey. With seven children, we have had plenty of opportunities to use this, and it has saved us from much misery. Most gastrointestinal illness was over quickly, and nausea would begin to subside in 15 minutes or less after starting to sip it. Continue using as needed until feeling well. It also seems to aid in sleep, whether from sickness or just restlessness.

A couple years ago, I learned about GSE - grapefruit seed extract, and now also take several drops of this at the very start of any queasy stomach symptoms. It seems to stop stomach bugs in their tracks. Hope some find this helpful.
