Since switching and physically removing the dangerous chemicals from my home, my allergies have lessened and my energy is better. Some of the products also double as insect repellent for your skin, in your house and outdoors. (No more ants!) Melaleuca also makes available the ingredient lists, so you don't need to guess at what's in their items. I'm thrilled with the products - the price is actually cheaper than "regular" items at the store, and they work just as well and often better than the national brands. They also now have a wonderful botanical disinfectant that is approved for commercial use, including MSDS reports.

In those days, there were few commercial products. It should be in the "home economics" section: ask your librarian. Someone publishing a modern version would do quite well.

It is a Canadian company that started in 1999 and has only been in the USA since approx 2004. The company is called Norwex. They have microfibers that have silver imbedded into the fibers to make the cloth antibaterial. The only thing you use with the microfiber cloth is water to do your cleaning. They will clean a surface 99.9% bacteria free. The cloths will not transfer dirt or bacteria to any other surface you clean. These cloths have been tested and proven to do what they say. You can use other safe products like vinegar but they will always leave something behind which will attract dirt and bacteria. These cloths will not leave anything behind because they only use water to clean. They clean better than any other product I have ever tried. Not all microfibers are created equal. The microfibers you get from a store will not have silver imbedded into the cloth and they will not clean as well as the Norwex cloths nor will they clean a surface 99.9% bacteria free. There is an oral surgery unit in my town that uses only Norwex products to clean their surgery areas. The only place you can purchase these are through Norwex consultants.

You can contact the company at www.norwex.com. They can get you in touch with a distributor.

just getting into this all natural phrase. Katee mentioned the "Soap Nuts" from New Target . I assume she meant the Store chain. I am in Wisconsin and had my daughter check the Super Target in Madison, no luck. I did see them on line, but try to do without the postage if possible. Would someone help me find those please?

Clorox Company Moat: Narrow | Risk: Below Average | Price/Fair Value Ratio*: 0.79 | Three-Year Expected Annual Return*: 17.8

Clorox's recent acquisition of the Burt's Bees brand allows the firm to expand into the natural and organics personal-care category

In other words, Clorox is going to be BIG and even BIGGER business by expanding into the Natural market.

I recently started manufacturing an antioxidant cleaner for commercial cleaning operations (sorry, I don‘t want to go into the retail markets yet).

Cleaner manufacturers do not have to list their ingredients. As such, how can you trust anyone? I was told at a meeting that Ecover uses petroleum products in their formulation. 7th Gen is a distributor, not a manufacturer. Many of their products use salts as thickeners. Any product on the market that has thick foam and big bubbles is using some type of synthetic surfactant that could be linked to causing a variety of health problems. Salts can cause corrosion and groundwater problems, especially with grey water systems.

I have excema and other allergies....I finally found a soap that doesn't have any smells and cleans everything from floors to laundry to my body without any adverse reaction. Has anyone else heard of K-D Gold?? It uses something called colloidal micelle technology....I don't really understand it...maybe someone else could explain....but it cleans grease stains and yet when diluted, is safe for toothbrushing. Anyway, thought I should share this for anyone else chemically sensitive.

I grabbed a bowl out of the cupboard and poured in baking soda, added a few glurgs of vinegar, and drizzled in some 100% tea tree oil. I used paper towels (and we don't use 'em often, I go through a roll every five to six months) and cleaned out the freezer with that mixture. I then left a bowl of baking soda in the bottom with the door closed until the appliance recycling shop could come and pick it up.

Do you know, when they picked it up it had absolutely no foul smell? The guy couldn't believe that the freezer had died two days previously with pound after pound of meat, fish, and butter in it! I doubt any store bought cleanser could do the same with ingredients as inert as the ones I used!
