Resonance and vibration are related but their meanings are not identical. If I sing an A note it can stimulate the A string on my guitar to vibrate. This happens because, being tuned to the same frequency, the A string can resonate with my vocally produced A - and this ability to resonate allows it be externally stimulated to vibrate. Changing the rate of vibration of either string or voice ends the resonance. So it might be more accurate to say something like "modulated info-carrying radio waves are frequencies (vibrations) which, because they are so similar to those used, or experienced, by our cells that they may influence cellular behaviour by means of resonance.

But putting syntax aside... the idea of resonance throws up another interesting (and even more troubling) possibility when exploring the impact of wireless technolgoy.

What if there is a 'harmonic' or 'overtone' resonance going possible in our cells? If so, then the external frequencies would not need to exactly match cellular frequencies to cause us problems. All it would take is a frequency to be occuring at a rate that is harmonic to a cellular freqency - it could be several multiples above or below but still having an influence.

If this is possible, then if we limit our thinking to the present level of analysis (immediate resonance causes cellular dysfunction/damage) we could completely overlook this possibility.

There is a huge factual error in his description and the crux of his argument. Here is the text in question:

"These modulated information-carrying radio waves resonate (vibrate) in the same frequencies as many of your cellular receptors; frequencies of a few to a few hundred cycles per second. These are biological frequencies and, unlike ionizing radiation (X-rays), which you can tolerate in small doses, there is NO dose of these radio waves that are safe. The cause damage at ANY dose, not matter how low."

The modulated signals do NOT 'resonate' at a few to a few hundred cycle per second. Let me put that in terms some are familiar with. A few cycles per second is 5Hz. A few hundred is 500Hz. A few hundred Hertz is about the frequency of your home stereo sub woofer. It is audible and WAY WAY to slow to carry any sort of voice data. 5 Hz is even slower and deeper. He might as well have said that listening to music or watching a movie at home is NOT safe, at any dose!

If the good Dr. is going to give some advice and make a statement for readers who trust the accuracy, it may be best if he actually knew what he was talking about. My advice...stay away from the technical advice.

Wonder how long this post will last...

They claim that a pendant worn around your neck helps act as a "tuning fork" that continuously resonates around your to neutralize the electromagnetic waves that hit our bodies. The end result is that it helps reduce the oxidative stress our bodies absorb (through the constant EMF bombardment from cell phones, microwave ovens, clock radios, tv's, etc.)

Can someone shed some light to this?

I'm severely sensitive to emfs and chemicals. Just recently after two years of severe insomnia I finally figured out cellphones are giving me insomnia (I had already figured out chemical exposure and emfs did). I don't own a cellphone and I have a corded phone but just being in close proximity to a person using one give me severe symptoms including insomnia. I have also just figured out that my chemical sensitivities get much worse after exposure to cellphones. I believe myself to be much more sensitive than most but it makes me wonder how big a role emf's play in allergies. My friends had a difficult time believing cellphones cause me severe insomnia and here it is on Mercola's site, yippee! I sure hope I can heal this...

At this time I kept my cell phone on the night stand next to my bed, had a tv and a radio in the room. Most people think I am a bit odd when I mention this but I now un-plug the tv and radio and turn my cell phone off at night and keep it in a different room of the house and I am able to fall easily asleep.

I was wondering if the television and/or radio could interfere with you brain waves as well as a cell phone?

Can anybody testify to the efficacy of BioPro products? Or did I waste my money? Does DSL pose a problem? I'm a little confused. I threw out the cell phone 2 years ago and the portable went to the dump in January. The tobacco analogy holds; I get very annoyed with the cell phone use in airports, airplanes, on railways, in restaurants...like smokers in past decades, they're everywhere. Thanks, all, for your contributions.

Someone fabricating lightweight protective helmets, possibly on a thin plastic/polycarbonate base, (sprayed/lacquered to prevent skin contact with the lead) in various sizes, from this, or similar material, could do quite well for themselves, as people become more aware of the dangers of such radiation. Perhaps Mercola.com could be approached, by way of a business proposition, as has been done with other commercial products.

Frequent waking, especially 2 a.m to 5 a.m. The I read an article about radio waves. Wi-Fi and insomnia and realised that the Wi-Fi router, located in the bedroom, was probably to blame. I now switch off the router and all cell-phones as I go to bed and some semblance of normalcy has returned to my sleep patterns. I realise that using Wi-Fi in the home is not a good option, but the layout of the house gives me little alternative.
