This man-made sweetener is certainly a fact of life and hard to avoid. Maybe I'm a little slow about noticing these things, but about a month ago I bought some Wrigley's DoubleMint gum for the first time in awhile. I popped the piece of gum in my mouth, took one bite and immediately tasted ASPARTAME in it! I spit it out and looked at the ingredient list on the label and it stated that there indeed was aspartame in it! This was NOT "Sugar Free" gum, this was regular Wrigley's gum. In fact, the first ingredient listed was SUGAR and further down the ingredient list was ASPARTAME! I couldn't believe it! I immediately called up the Wrigley company and complained about it and told them that as long as they continued to put aspartame in their non-"sugar free" gum I would not purchase their product!

This morning I decided to have some hot chocolate, and grabbed some Nestlé Rich Chocolate Hot Chocolate. This was not "sugar free", but it has Sugar and Sucralose in it!

Now we can't even be sure our "regular" foods aren't poisoned with artificial sweeteners!

Silly me!
