# 5 - Dr Agaton does recommend Splenda - I agree with Mr Mercola on this point.

# 8 - Wow - valencia peanuts only..... I‘m sorry, but i have a full time job and a life, I‘ll take the risk. (PS - Dr Agatson wasn‘t necessarily even advocating peanut butter, we was breaking down some of the traditional American foods and talkign about their risks and benefits. W PBJ sandwich was one of these items, and the conclusion was that the sandwich is terrible for you.)

In conclusion, Dr Mercola - I am starting the diet in 3 days, and cannot so cannot say what its results are.

#1 - Dr Agatson only promotes good carbs (including fruit and whole grain bread) after a two-week no-carb nomalization period for insulin levels. He does exactly what Dr Mercola suggests he should - he normalizes your insulin first. Any diet book has to make assumptions about people's health to reach masses, and before beginning any diet plan, you should review it with your Dr, so I think Dr Mercola's comment on "sub clinical gluten sensitivity" and "high carbohydrate sensitivity" are a bit ridiculous for reviewing a diet that is reaching millions. Clearly, there are people with medical conditions beyond what any health book controls.

#2 - Mercury in fish is pretty common knowledge. Once again, I take this insult with a grain of salt. Fish, in general, is good for you.

#3 - I can't believe Dr Mercola is suggesting that a diet for the MASSES should cater to those with lactose intolerance. Once again, if you know you have a medical condition, you adjust. I doubt those with lactose intolerance will each cheese and drink milk just because a diet suggests it - common sense!

#4 - Dr Agatson suggests saturated fats in the form of olive oil, peanut oil, sesame oil. In general, I find olive oil a lot more accessible than coconut oil....

#5 - Wow. This was totally taken out of context. Dr Agatson does NOT suggest eating french fries or potato chips. He severely cautions people from eating them. He used them as an example of the body quickly digesting food and turning it into sugars, and said that a baked potato is digested more quickly than french fries or potato chips b/c the trans fat in the fries and chips slows down the digestion process. That being said, he states numerous times that all of these foods are to be avoided. Out of room...
