If glutamine and glutamic acid increases excitotoxins, is whey protein safe? Also, the infant formula advanced by the Weston A. Price Foundation contains gelatin, which in most cases contain msg, an excitotoxins. Is gelatin safe for babies?

You drew some pretty extreme conclusions about the Blaylock fellow. I wonder what you based your "facts" on ?

Trained by Big Pharma and brainwashed ? Maybe more accurately would be that Big Pharma tried to train and brainwash him.

I subscribed to his monthly newsletter over a year ago and based on the writings my conclusions are completely the opposite of yours. eg. anti Statin, anti vaccine, anit aspartame and so on..... plus the only thing he is selling is the newsletter.

Stated in the article above -

"The only safe situation for glutamine use is in the vigorous athlete. Glutamine is used as a muscle fuel, so that vigorous exercise will consume most of the glutamine before it can accumulate in the brain."

Still I do have concerns whether to supplement L-glutamine to any benefit or detriment. For now I think I will stick with highy quality whey isolate and raw milk.

I could NOT sleep! :( . I went 4 days without any sleep! I have migraines when I am sleep deprived. :( I am slightly autistic. I was having melt downs, bad ones, worse than I've ever had. I had to go up on my antidepressant medication and have not been able to reduce it now months later after I've been off of it. I was only on it for 3 weeks but it seems to have done me permanent or long term damage. The only good part is it made me realize what has been causing melt downs all along? MSG. And yes it hides under 30 or so different names which is why I never made the connection before. Another thing and I am surprised Dr. Mercola didn't mention this. It is in EVERY live vaccine. Many folks have noticed their children becoming autistic after live virus vaccines such as the MMR piercing, even though most live vaccines (accept the Flu vaccine which does) don't even contain mercury. So msg injected during a very stressful time in the child's life (being held down and hurt by folks who are supposed to protect the child from being hurt) could be part of the damage they cause. Studies done on rats show stress makes things cross the blood brain barrier that usually can't cross it.. But I admit a member of one of my autistic support groups became autistic after catching the measles, not the shot, the disease itself. So the mystery is not solved.

Thats where most L-Glutamine is converted to preferentially GABA and L=Aspartate. The rest gets taken up by the brain and gets converted to L-glutamate.

All cells require glutamine as a nitrogen donor as well as an energy source for cell-specific functions. Understanding how glutamine utilization is metered to these demands is fundamental to basic cell processes as well as to therapeutic manipulation of regulatory mechanisms. The regulatory role of the glutamine/glutamate couplet in cellular function is used for acid-base homeostasis and for production of the extracellular matrix.

Blaylock, M.D is trained first by Big Pharma. He is brainwashed and tells people to avoid omega 6 oils.

Folks, Omega 6's are not evil, they are very very healthy in a raw unprocessed state. Sure Omega 3's are great, but it is the processed garbage Omega 6's that cause the problems. Since Russell L. Blaylock, M.D. spent most of his life as Neurosurgeon, and then got into nutrition and wrote "Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills," how is he an expert on nutrition? Has he has a Naturopathic Clinic seeing patients since the 1960's? Has he personally reviewed thousands of blood and urine samples. NO! He reads JAMA and crap like that. LEF is doing a lot of good for people, but they recommend tagament and aspirin! Sorry people but he does not fool me.

Go to a good Naturopathic Doctor who actually has a clinic and seeing patients, not someone who just writes books and reads articles. Most of the studies are flawed regardless. You simply cannot rely 100% on any scientific study. No natural bodybuilder consuming tons of protein has any mental issues (even the guys in their 70's and 90's).

Not a single bodybuilder or weightlifter I know has any medical problems listed above and am wondering where all this is coming from, considering the fact that almost all other reputable sources show practically no problems taking the product.
