I would definitely be interested in any input, opinion, or response to Barney Wilson's request for feedback from Dr. Mercola about Betaine HCL. I personally have done very little investigation on this, but while I am very anxious to learn more, I am not the expert.... so, like Barney, I would like some professional input on this product and, more importantly, the subject of GERD and its treatment. If this product has any negative effects that cannot be surmounted, it would be especially beneficial for all of us to understand and learn what the professionals think... and what they advise about alternative treatments of GERD. I have lost 3 personal friends due to esophageal cancer in the past four years. No doubt that excessive acid, or serious imbalance of acidity and alkaline elements in our bodies are of significant importance in preventing this cancer. It is of the utmost importance that we learn and understand ALL existing options to treat GERD and all related disorders clearly and completely now - not later.

Article is very good, however, after being told by a Dr. that I have tried every medication under the sun, either OTC or script. Someone told me about a product called "Betaine HCI". It seems to be working, however, I wish the Dr. could comment on this product,
