The medical experts there warned about the use of these drugs because they spur your body to radically increase production of gastrin. This, in turn, can trigger the cancer. Carcinoid produces neuroendocrine tumors which metastasize and spew out substances such as serotonin that do great harm in other parts of the body. My father has this cancer in his liver but it destroyed the valves of his heart! Carcinoid cancers have increased by 800% in the last couple of decades - perhaps due, in part, to the overwhelming use of these drugs.&lt;/p&gt;
