It is similar to all the other low carb diets, but is promoting a lot more fat obviously. It was started by a Dr. Dahlqvist, who tried the diet herself and had great results both when it came to losing weight, but also improvements in gastrointestinal health and joint health. She then suggested the diet to her patients, and they too had great results. Unfortunately, since Dr. Dahlqvist's recommendations were contrary to government recommendations, she had to quit her job at a local health clinic, but is still promoting the diet through a blog and various books.

I would love to see what some of you guys think about such a high fat diet. Would that be to promote a long and healthy life, or is it a disaster waiting to happen?
