And what if you want a hot meal in the winter? As far as our ancestors not cooking food, I've heard they ate a lot of carrion (now that's appetizing!), and may be why it's believed that the "best" meats are well-aged. I eat very little meat anyway; and in any case, grass-fed meat is unavailable unless you have a big freezer.

I do eat raw eggs, but can't afford raw milk (the only "milk" I regularly consume is plain yogurt, with vanilla and stevia added by me); my husband goes through nearly 2 gallons a week. I eat salads occasionally, when I'm in the mood, but have to add dressing as plain greens just don't cut it for me. Even if I add stuff like cheese (not raw) fruits, nuts etc. I dislike regular coconut oil, but use a lot of the refined coconut oil in baking and other foods as it has no flavor. My husband flatly refuses to eat anything with the flavor of coconut. I'm trying to eat more salads and fresh fruits that can be eaten without too much mess (that leaves out peaches, but then you can only get ripe ones seasonally and locally).

I'll grant that increased eating of less-processed food is the way to go, but it's got to be an acquired taste. And I'm not giving up my steel-cut oats!

I cook my venison and buffalo meat on a bed of onions and mushrooms. I use

low heat only. The meat is fairly raw in the center. The few eggs I eat, are cooked in the same way but the yokes are not solid. I also inclue eggs

in my muffins which contain no wheat flour. ( coconut and garbanzo bean flour ) I use coconut oil only, when I soft fry my food stuff. I eat cooked food about 3 times per week.

Thanks to Dr. Mercola for heading me in the right direction on my diet.

I also exersize every other day on a rebounder and lift weights.

I have boundless energy and work in the woods every day. ( weather permitting )

                       Good health to all.

I must ask - in the beginning were there stoves and microwaves? Some studies indicate that humans are not designed for, or have the equipment to handle meat and compare us with the vegetarian animals, some of which are the most powerful creatures on the planet.

My macrobiotic friends claim that long-term eating raw will eventually contribute to a breakdown of the mental faculties. I haven't stuck on any one food protocol long enough to make a statement other than when I consume raw vegetable juices regularly, I tend to feel better. I do weight training regularly and in the beginning seem to have more energy, but longer term, when I loose weight; I noticed that my strength drops. Of course, some say that more important is flexibility, endurance, and over all well-being.

I have formed a non-profit information group, the BioNutritional Information Association. There are no membership fees, etc. We just share scientific and personal information on health, nutrition, and our environment from time to time, usually via email. I would like to learn more of the China Study pros and cons, and share more regarding the optimal diet for humans.

Since increasing to 100% raw over 2 years ago my health is excellent.

For those who do not know or will not believe that animal products produce disease whether cooked or raw, read The China Study, the most comprehensive factual study on nutrition to date (Cornell University). Farming of animal foods is also one of the most detrimental things humans do to the planet.

Please, if you must eat animals & their milk & eggs, move to the country, raise them yourself with love & compassion, and kill them yourself. Even so called organic cow farms are doing more harm than good to people & planet.

Blessings of health & peace for all,

The BULK of our diet should be raw food and laying off cooked food for periods of time is not bad either. I agree that we shouldnt be eating cooked food EVERY single day like most American typically do. I know for a fact that i could live off of just eating fresh fruit and vegetables and raw nuts etc. People in society have gotten too caught up in the COOKED, BAKED, FRYED, GRILLED, PROCESSED lifestyle. Cooked food should be eaten in a small part and should be supported with foods that are living with enzymes and nutrition.

Even my mother ( Nutritionist) thinks it is weird when i lay off of cooked food and just have a salad for dinner or whatever. She even thinks its weird when she sees me eating ton of vegetables and fruits throughout the day.

As a 16 year old boy I know that all this information will extend my life and i cant wait to tell others about this information!!!

More people need to know this information

Thx, Dr Mercola, dont stop what you're doing, more people are still out there....
