You get what you pay for. Remember many of these toxic chemicals are used NOT because the manufacturer is out to get you, but because the ingredients are CHEAP! The general public wants CHEAP... so either don't wear makeup or find one that is Pure, Safe and Beneficial.

where can I find the list of makeup manufacturers that are not healthy? I usually use Lancome, even though it's not natural and a bit pricey. I like it because it doesn't feel like I'm wearing makeup and I'm not allergic to it, but would consider switching if the all natural stuff looked alright too. I have heard lots of people are allergic to Revlon. I know I am! My lips puffed right up when I used their lipstick!

It is helpful to learn that cosmetics are harmful, but it would be more helpful to learn what products are better, or less harmful, so that people have a way to chose a better alternative. I applaud the identification of the worst offenders but which products are a better choice.

The cosmetic, fragrance and toiletry industry is likely the most unregulated industry in this country, with a powerful and wealthy cadre of lobbyists. This industry hides behind "trade secrets" so it does not have to list what is in its products. The skin is probably the largest organ of the human body. Any woman who wears make-up knows that it is absorbed by the skin. So all of the chemicals, many of which are carcinogenic, are absorbed into the body, putting added stress on the body to process them. Yet this industry is totally uncontrolled.
