The study involved women who had either survived breast cancer or were concerned about the risk of using estrogen products for hot flashes. I'm not sure if this is coincidental but very strange. I'm 53 and thought I was through with menopause. Is it conceivable that the wild yam could have triggered this?

Question on the coconut oil, do you take it as a liquid or capsule or some other form?

Then someone told me that it can cause liver damage. I would like to know if there is any trurth to this. In the mean time I'm going to try the vitamin E and see how that works. Thanks Dr. Mercola for all your great newsletters.

It seems to do a great job of balancing my hormones. If I quit taking the coconut oil for a week or so, then I start getting hot flashes all the time, but as long as I maintain my 1 Tblsp per day of oil, I rarely ever get hot flashes, and I have more energy and feel better. I have read all of your articles on menopause but I haven't seen anything that tells woman to use coconut oil for menopause as well as for weight loss.
