However, doctors say many of the 28 million US migraine sufferers are still being undertreated for their disabling headaches

re: Many Migraine Sufferers Undertreated - What Can You Do For Migraines?

Yeah, unfortunately sinus migraines are not so easy to deal when you live in a humid, tropical climate (VOG, pollen and mold year round). I can't afford a magnesisum drip. I am one to blast Big Pharma for their greed and deceit. But, I will use their Max Alt, as it gets rid of a sinus migraine fast. I am willing to take the risks so I can keep my job. I have tried Neil Meds nasal rinse, vitamin C injections, but nothing works like max alt. I am glad it is available, because I like having a job. I always tell my students to be skeptical of Big Pharma, but when you need today's "penicillin" in life or job threatening situations, pharma has their place, abeit it should be a much smaller place. I have tried mind over matter..and backed my car into a pipe...sure glad it wasn't a person. It probably works for some, but it is not a cure all. And it is dangerous if you have to drive with a migraine. Maxalt doesn't make me sleepy. I just wish it wasn't so expensive. Or I wish there was a quick, natural alternative as effective...I have no choice if I don't want to get fired. If I didn't have to work...ah, but I do. If only I could control the volcano, as its VOG is usually the trigger.

The strange thing is that people with migraines still feel pain for a while after taking the pills and still get headaches again and again. Obviously painkillers only mask what is really going on.

The medical industry would have you believe that migraine is an incurable genetic disease. What this implies is that you have it for life, and the only way to deal with it is medication to numb the pain. Some people even get botox shots in their scalp to deaden the nerve endings!

I had migraines and cluster headaches for twenty-two years. Now they are gone. I don't take medications or require any special medications. Basically, it is possible to learn how to not have headaches. I try to document my experiences and discoveries at my free blog, www.headache-mgmt.com
