lookingforproof , My son had to drink soy formula for only 4 months (8mo-12mo.) and we are suffering the effects 22 years later.

You can induce lactation. An adoptive mother can breastfeed.

OMFG! You sound just like my mother when I commented on how upset I was that my sister smoked when pregnant with her son (who was born premature and suffered from a speech impediment). I remember my mother becoming offended and saying how she smoked when she was pregnant with me, and how I turned out okay, as if that somehow negated all scientific research on the subject. Honestly, if she weren't my mother, I would have smacked her upside her head. You are not my mother, so I hope you never say the above statement in front of me or I will smack you upside your head.

Is there a formula out there that doesn't have soy? What is recommended? My daughter is adopting and is going to use formula. We need to find out what the alternives are for her.
