The best book on the subject that I have come across is "Healing the New Childhood Epidemics, Autism, ADHD, Asthma, and Allergies" by Kenneth Bock. M.D. and Cameron Stauth. To quote some of the information in the book "The vast majority of all children with autism, ADHD, and asthma have serious allergies." He talks about the shots given to pregnant women still having mercury in them. And even the childhood immunizations having aluminum in them. Newborn babies being given shots which puts toxins directly into their bloodstreams. He says that giving an immunization shot while a child is sick and/or taking antibiotics sets the child up for allergies, ADHD, asthma, and autism. Giving children probiotics will help with the immune system after antibiotics have been given but we really need to look at other treatments such as homeopathics which cause fewer side effects in children.
