re: MMR Doctor Links 170 Cases of Autism to Vaccine

Dear Doctor Mercola,

I have spoken out at work about the dangers of vaccines when the subject has come up in discussion (especially now that the new HPV vaccine is being given in the UK secondary school where I work and one of my colleagues was a parent of a girl in the age group to receive the jab.) Now I have met a new work colleague who states that she worked in a research establishment with those who personally know Dr Wakefield and that his research on MMR was done on only 8 children. I feel that I need to refute this claim with reasonable evidence if only for my own satisfaction. Can you or others help me in this? Just stating what I have read on the internet is not good enough as there is much on the web on the other side of the argument. Is my colleague right and , if not, how many did he investigate?
