i have had 2 biopsies, my last one found that i also have cirrhosis. hep c could have brought it on. i use to drink but not enough to get cirrhosis (not in denial). now i am seeing a team of drs. for a transplant. DO NOT TAKE OR INJECT YOURSELF WITH INTERFERON

I'm in agreement with everyone and am following the same protocol. I've also read about colloidal silver to bring down your viral load. It's expensive to buy and cheap to make. Youtube.com has the instructions. I was told that Alpha lipoic acid was the one to use. The other lipoic acid was not mentioned at all. I haven't tried the colliodal silver as my virol loas is 20 million and I fear it's too late. My my ast and alt are fine. (enzymes) So is my bilirubin. I've had Hep in 1977 but I wasn't diagnosed with HepC untill 1996. I guess a biopsy would be the way to find out what's really going on.

I also found Oxymatrine helpful in dealing with my Chronic Fatigue Immune Deficiency Syndrome as a very successful antiviral.

I have had success wth a substance from Alternative Medical Solutions Malibu, CA called Oxymatrine. It is a combination of a couple of chinese mushrooms I believe. I found it at HepatitisC.com I believe. Lloyd Wright's site. He healed himself of Hepatitis C and is a great resource for non-medical solutions.

I'm also looking for alternative treatment for my Hep-C. I have bought the Alpha Lipoic Acid, Selenium and silmaryin and am wondering how long I take this combination of products?

I've also bought a number of products from you for the liver and antioxidants in general to try and build some energy. It's all I can do to push myself to get up and keep going, but from the pit of my body I don't think I should do the Interferon that my doctor has said I've needed for the past four years.

If anyone has any other suggestions or ideas please write. Any help will be appreciated. Sincerely; Deb

Thanks for this valuable information. I was diagnosed with Hep C a year ago, and though the doctor tried to get me to do the interferon ribavirin, I refused and am still looking for an alternative. The Interferon treatment is far too risky, and can damage other organs. I recently read that this treatment caused Dionne Warwick's kidneys to fail.

I'd love to see more articles about Hepatitis C, as they are pretty far and few between in most medical postings and newsletters.

VERY interesting! Are there any updates to this in the last few years, since it goes back to the year 2000?

Also, there's alpha lipoic acid and R-lipoic acid. From the research I've done, R-lipoic seems to be much more powerful and should be used in lower quantities. Is there something specific to alpha rather than R that works better for HCV? Which should be used for the best results and in what quantities?
