So after having what the medical community declares as elevated Cholesterol levels over the last 20 years, I have tried the various Statin drugs and all seem to cause tiredness or other unacceptable physical results. My Doctor finally suggested I submit to a Calcium Scan to see if I have had any build up of deposits.

The insurance companies do not cover this procedure, so I paid a very reasonable $99.00 to have it done. I thought the results were nteresting. The test ratings are from zero, showing the least amounts of deposits, to a 10 which is the highest amounts of deposits among patients tested. I tested as a zero. The doctor says this means at least 90% of men of my age tested have more deposits than I do. It also means that there was no measurable calcium build up.

To me what this did was confirm what Doctor Mercola has been saying all along. Cholestrol levels do not nessarily indicate calcium deposits. While this could be a flase negative in that some men with low calcium levels still have heart problems it was certainly a relief to know that I am doing the right thing by trying to control my levels through diet.
