I have been listening/watching Dr. Mercola's information on vaccinations, H1N1, etc. and have been so impressed. I have been emailing this information to many others as well. My daughter is pregnant and I am trying to drum up all sorts of information on circumcision for her and her husband in case it's a boy and thought I would try your website since you had so much great information on vaccinations. I was extremely disappointed to see what was posted on circumcision...I was expecting something totally different. Not that it had to be agaist it, as I am, but at least have more than just a 1-sided proponent of it. Please update this information so that parents can make informed choices, just as with vaccinations. The 2 websites below are a good place to start. Thank you...

If you are going to base your view on the bible it would be good to read Galatians and get a more rounded picture of where the bible stands on circumcision. We are no longer under the law but under grace.

I totally agree. I really do look up to Dr. Mercola and his articles, but after reading this comment from him, I started reading his articles less. I can't believe he doesn't do more research on this very controversial topic.

For someone I have come to know as being vigilant in picking apart studies to get at the meat, I'm astonished at this post. When you consider that premature infants, and infants born ill are not candidates for circumcision, the statistics you quote become questionable. A premature/ill infant is far more likely to develop infection from naturally bacteria than a healthy infant. Were these factors accounted for?

Many many infections could be prevented by lopping off all sorts of body parts, however that does not make amputation the best course of action. The lack of common sense and logic being applied to this subject really disgusts me. "First, do no harm!!!"

This article is from the year 2000. The link on the page goes to a site that makes it sound like circumcision is not a good thing for males. Hopefully the Mercola site will have an updated article going into more details from both sides of the issue sometime in this year of 2009.
