It is so funny that so many not-nobel-prize-winning 'scientists' go against Pauling, the man that gave the world chemical bonding, the proteine papers and almost the structure of DNA (would have been his 3rd undivided nobel prize).

I have been taking lots of C for 17 years now. Haven't had a cold since. My blood is checked three times a year ( I am a blood donor) and I have the readings of some one half my age. I don't need glasses and never see a dentist.

Forget the scare-stories about kidneys and hardening arteries. All those tests are financed by the farmaceutical companies that rather see you pay for their medicines than live a healthy life.

While 'alternative' medicine once enthusiastically took Pauling's recommendations to heart, I'm more the scientific type. And I discovered, reading Pauling's books AND asking zoologists--what the "normal" dose of Vitamin C is, among the so-called 'lower animals'--all of whom make their own Vitamin C, unlike us, their more exalted brethren. Lo and behold--a goat manufactures 6 grams of Vitamin C a day. A 45-ound goat. And goats eat all kinds of garbage--literally! And never get sick.

If we go on a weight-dependent basis, I'm sure that you will agree, Doctor, that 6 grams of C for a 45-lb animal, would more accurately translate to...let's see...45 pounds times 6 grams, equals in grams for a 180-lb person...45 X 3,,, 135 lbs would take...hmmm...18 GRAMS OF VITAMIN C PER DAILY DOSE, for an equivalent-weight human.

That's a WHOLE HELL of a lot more than the 'daily recommended dose'. Next question: How old was Dr. Linus Pauling when he passed away? I think in his 80s, and presumably he took his own advice re super-megadoses of C. I'll be 70 years old this August, and I look like I'm in my 40s, or so everyone says. I'll tell you what Vitamin C is NOT good for, by my experience--it's NOT good for obesity, LOL! Cause now I weigh 225 lbs. But when I get my chronic cellulitis--6 grams of 6 every two hours PLUS my nightly dose of 30 grams, gets rid of the cellulitis forthwith. I only get cellulitis when, for various reasons, I don't get to take my whole nightly dose of C. Diarrhea? Nope, not any more. KIDNEY STONES? My kidneys ought to be totally petrified by now, if THAT was true (Vit. C megadoses cause them). Bye

Go back and re-read Pauling if you haven't read him yet..
