You wrote: I find that the most effective...approach, involves using the diet recommendations to adjust the internal terrain (of our intestinal bactera) to support the growth of the beneficial bacteria, and suppress the growth of the harmful ones.

I suspect that you mean, how antibiotics given for illnesses, kill ALL bacteria, including the "good" ones in our digestive systems. Curious: diarrhea is listed as a potentially threatening complication of taking megadoses of C, notwithstanding that it goes away as soon as the body gets used to those doses--but it seems to be pooh-poohed by our very own Big Pharma. Oops--I keep forgetting! Big Pharma is into drug manufacture and selling, to make money. By corollary, excellent health LOSES Big Pharma money.

This explains the recent and disastrous (for Europeans) European solution of limiting vitamin usage and putting it under medical supervision, so now they don't get ANY AMOUNT NEAR of what they need to stay healthy--especially when considering Vitamin C and how each person's needs vary (depending on what diseases we all get exposed to every day, often without our knowledge). Therefore I say, since Vitamin C cannot hurt anyone--(the body gets rid of what it DOESN'T use on a daily basis) it's criminal to put those draconian limits on individuals' purchase of C for their own use, that American Big Pharma was able to accomplish, in formerly free (of profit-based interference with their legitimate choices) in Europe.

Dr. I know that you are a busy man. But If you would ever like to discuss the points that I've raised in these posts to you, personally, I can be found at: jvaljon1@aol.com. and needless to say, I would enjoy the discussion. Regards-- Val!
