It is gentler than surgery, but I would not call it a gentle treatment. Having been braced as a child, that treatment is the gentlest I have had, but it only kept the curves in check until I finished growing. And, I believe it had it's own set of problems (weak muscles, etc.). I am getting results from the CLEAR program, and it is a long, slow, painful (for me) process. It requires a comittment of much time, money & dedication. But, it is working so far (I've been at it about 6 months now). I found out about them online. When I read their theory & treatment protocol, I said to myself "ah-ha, this is just what I've been seeking". I am blessed to live close enough to one of their 3 centers that I can manage to make it work. It would be nice if I lived even closer, but they do have treatment plans for those who live far away (& even overseas!). I hope this information helps someone else with scoliosis. I highly recommend you look into the CLEAR program, and others - do your research! It's the best program, I believe, out there. I have tried conventional chiropractic care, & never once had an x-ray (other than the orthopedic surgeon, who told me I needed the surgery within a year as an adult) from a chiropractor, & always thought that was good, but have learned that there is valuable info. to be had from them.
