This article was published almost 3 1/2 years ago, but the problem still persists in many new cars sold in North America. These chemicals can have serious negative effects on the health of young children, expectant mothers, chemically/environmentally sensitive people, and I believe in general that exposure to these chemicals is not good for anybody. As well, these chemicals are very harmful for the environment. This is quite sad, especially since alternative safer materials are available and are used in the car production process much more in Japan and Europe than here in North America, where this issue is taken more seriously.
