I started taking the combined contraceptive pill 2 1/2 years ago. 6 months ago, the doctor changed me to a progesterone-only pill because of my focal migraines..

I then stopped taking the progesterone-only pill, and have been off any contraceptives for 3 months or so. I am noticing increased facial and body hair, a lot of acne, reduced breast size, and thickening of the upper arms and shoulders.

Is it likely that the contraceptives have created a hormonal imbalance in my body? And if so, how do I get back to 'normal' - i.e. before I started putting artificial hormones into my body?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

When my mom had a hysterectomy and was put on BCPs, she had the energy of a horse. When they downgraded the dose, she got fibromyalgia.

Don't take it for convenience, I understand, but there are medical reasons.
