In addition to prescription medication, the doctor had me start taking an aspirin tablet per day. In 1993 I was hit with CFIDS (Chronic Fatigue) and disabled. Since I continued to have high triglycerides, two additional doctors over the years kept me on the aspirin per day routine. After 13 years of CFIDS I changed my life course. I stopped all the medication, including aspirin, changed my diet, and slowly began exercising. Since taking control of my health I have developed a cataract in my right eye.

For the last two years I have been using NAC drops in my eye, but I haven't seen any improvement. I don't think the cataract has gotten any worse, though. I have no desire for laser surgery because of horror stories related to me from people I know as well as outside sources. The "eye doc" has suggested that maybe I had eye trauma earlier in life. Well, this article seems to suggest the most likely source for my cataract.
