Although the above article relates to autism, the Dr. Tomatis method is much more. The only quick way to describe it is to simply say that it is a cure for Audio Dyslexicia. People who talk in an unexpressive tone or monotone voice are most likely Audio Dyslexic. Children who suffer from excessive earaches often develop audio dyslexia. Also children who experience childhood trama can develop the same problems. An otherwise bright child who has trouble learning math and spelling can be a clue to audio dyslexia.

Audio Dyslexia is not a hearing problem, it is a problem of the brain interpreting what the ear is hearing. The inner ear has tiny muscles that transfer vibrations to the brain. When these tiny muscles are weak, the signals to the brain are also weak. The body can become very tired trying to make sense of what the ear is hearing. Children usually need more sleep than normal children. Adults find it hard to concentrate in group discussions and are often all over the place in an unorderly fashion.

The Dr. Tomatis method can cure this by strengthening the tiny ear muscles, simply by the patient listening to Mozart music with all the low frequencies filtered out. It forces the tiny muscles to exercise and become normal.

Other signs that your child is audio dyslexic are bad hand writing, usually obese with no muscle tone. Another sign is - maturity, can't stand to lose in any type of childhood game. Child has few or no friends, poor at sports, disrupts classes, Finding a Tomatis center is difficult because there are so few.

Dr. Tomatis is from France and few centers were set up in North America. One center is in Toronto Canada. If you google Tomatis you will find others.
