This makes many people hesitate to apply work principles at home, even if they work in professional life. But one thing that can easily be applied to home life is a weekly

re: How to Apply Proven Business Techniques to Your Home Life

Some of us do not have families - why is it assumed that everyone does ?

The service is currently free (even thought we will have extra features that will be charged for, be assured that there will always be a free base service like now).

We currently support some profiles (e.g. omnivore, vegetarian, kosher, halal, etc.) and we will send you (if you register), once a week a meal plan build for you based on your profile. The feature we plan to support later will be much more personalized (e.g. you will be able to specify the amount of calorie, nutrient, say if you like or dislike something, specify health issue [diabetes, allergy, crohn's disease, etc.], or that you want to be on a diet with x, y, z criteria and probably much more! hehe).

Another thing that is cool is that the meal plans currently build take into consideration the specials in the grocery store and the availability of local products. Of course, we currently support these features for some limited regions (in North America), but if you live elsewhere in North America, you can probably take advantage of these as they are often similar... and if you live elsewhere, the meal plan still are useful (everybody eat!). We of course plan to support more regions for these features, but we are in development and have limited resources! Slowly but surely!

There are of course a lot of recipes. ;-)

The service is also currently available in English and French.

If you have feedbacks, suggestions, etc. you can also contact us and we do read what our users tells us.

Hope that you will find it useful! There are a lot of features we support and plan to support that are related to what I read here! ;-)

Sometime in planning, the hardest part is to start I guess!

We have another box that spans years for insurance (HO, auto, heath,...), real estate closing docs, auto purchase docs, taxes, and school receipts (technically, these should also be in the tax folder)

Process your inbox: what inbox? I don't keep one at home - most of my bills are on auto-draft payment. Those that are not get paid within a working day of receipt. DH is rather retentive about that.

Empty your head: LOL - DH does not want to hear about what I've been doing - I have to zip my lips when I start talking about gross or microbiology labs

Dream time: We have a list on the fridge of places we want to go - we have visited about 1/3 of them since we put up the list

Be creative and courageous: we're going to the Improv in Addison on Mar 3. That's about as creative as I can get during a school session. Bought DH a 40W CO2 laser engraver this week. That should keep him out of my hair for a while.

re: How to Apply Proven Business Techniques to Your Home Life

Most of these things are mandatory at our house. Most of the items listed are about communication. As a homeschooling mom, my children are with me most of the time, so we had better be doing these things! Sorry, Russ, I don't have the luxury of going to work to rest! Working on quilts or studying natural health is as close as it gets!

re: How to Apply Proven Business Techniques to Your Home Life

It is easy to stay focused at work but the challenge is often at home with 2 kids needing daily transportation to school, basketball practice, all day or weekend volleyball tournaments....you get the picture. There are some great suggestions in the article.

re: How to Improve Your Relationship with a Weekly Review

I go to work to rest.

Auditing of me is hourly, if not constant, at home...

;-)

Uncle Russ

re: How to Improve Your Relationship with a Weekly Review

Good, sound suggestions. You should always schedule time with your family.

Mary
