I got the flu and started taking Tamiflu. My daughter got it two days later. So I got Tamiflu for her. Three days of the Tamiflu for me made me very irritable. Then 24 hours after my daughter took it she woke up very confused and irritable. I will not continue to give it to her. My son has just started running a fever and after watching his sister go through the side affects told me he would never take Tamiflu. STAY AWAY from Tamiflu!

Tamiflu doesn't work for most people any way because most people are resistant to it's effects. I work for a lab where we test drugs for companies and see how well they actually work in an invitro situation and Tamiflu simply doesn't do squat. We give the drug companies the honest, sometimes disappointing results we get, but we can't do anything about what they actually report from our studies.

1 1/2 days! Before the days of antibiotics, everyone knew that if you had an illness with a fever you STAYED IN BED for at least 2 days after the fever went away. And even then, it was just a gentle walk in the fresh air, suitably wrapped up if it was cold, then back to resting.

Not all traditions and old-fashioned ways are best - I'm not sure that leeches do any good (except perhaps for bronze diabetes) - but In these days of a pill to fix everything, people have forgotten some obvious truths in traditional wisdom.

Follow stock and finances. Patented drugs cause company stock to soar. People make BIG money. All the patents are temporary. The longer you can keep a patented drug on the market, the more (BIG) money you can make. The key to continuity is having New Drugs "in the pipeline". It's makes no difference how the old ones worked. Once they go generic (or are outlawed) they are not as profitable and it's time to move on.

Notice how HEALTH has no place in this formula? It's profit driven only.

The best way to fight viruses is to use a good quality 10 ppm ionic/colloidal silver/silver hydrosol product. Read these excellent articles written by a couple of MD's who have lots of experience from treating patients with silver in this form.

These articles actually verify that silver is an essential mineral that the body needs to be able to handle several physiological functions of the immune system. ROS - Reactive Oxygen Species is one of them.

There are certain viruses that surround themselves with fatty cells - lipids. These viruses are known as lipid viruses and can unfortunately tolerate colloidal silver fairly well. This is because the water based silver does not penetrate the lipid barrier of the virus. However, if you mix equal parts colloidal silver with whisky or vodka and squezze some fresh lime or lemon juice in too - you have a recipy that will take care of lipid virus infections very efficiently. There has been research done on fatty acids that they break down the phospholipid layer of some bacteria and viruses, including the flu virus. How about a good supplement or well balanced diet to help prevent the flu in the first place. Prevention really is the best medicine!

The Bird Flu is a hoax, as are many, many so called diseases out there. Im starting to believe viruses as a whole may not even exist. If anyone is interested in this subject look up Stefan Lanka research and/or interviews, you'll be shocked. He really makes a lot of things clear and simple that doctors and big pharma would like us to believe are so complex. A complex appearance of disease and disorders makes for big funding and for millions of uninformed medical professionals to spread lies and destroy lives for a living. The most trained professionals out there are simply regurgitating outdated nonsense and propaganda. The human race is doomed if this is allowed to continue, and I say good riddance. I only wish I would be around when the *** really hits the fan and we start dropping like flies from our own greed.

I know someone's gonna want to give me negative points for this one but i read the post about the bird flu and have to wonder if maybe its a similar situation here. Couldn't these results just caused by people who are already in poor health? it's kinda hard to judge without knowing the number of people already given the treatment, the way this article's presented just feels a bit misleading

Tamiflu supposedly interrupts the virus, and is not an antibiotic, but is classified as an anti-viral. But stay away from it, and do not give it to your children. My daughter had 1 dose of it and was literally running into walls and could not stop. Needless to say she has not had another dose, and I called the Doctor who prescribed it and told him what happened. He has never even offered to prescribe it to anybody in our family since then.

well, I think this is being touted as a enzyme inhibiter(neuraminidase)which is found on the surface of influenza A or B....by affecting the enzyme, the virus is not easily replicated/erupted into your cells to oversimplify....however, we have our own neuraminidase in our bodies and lack of it causes some disruption...but who knows what else is in tamiflu to cause the reactions!.....Natural is best!!!

Pardon me for sounding silly, but I thought that taking any medication for the flu is feudal since it is viral? Correct me if I am wrong, please. What about Theraflu? That stuff made me feel high as a kite. So I proceeded to buy more. Just kidding. Is there acetaminophen in Tamiflu? What about NyQuil? NyQuil actually mixes acetaminophen with alcohol. No wonder you pass out.
