Ughhh!! I've been 'attacked' by this cordless phone for many, many months without realizing it. How depressing! It is definitely out of here!! Tell me: in your opinion, how dangerous is it sitting in front of a computer monitor, with the concern of EMF?? Is it any less dangerous, or should it be just as concerning?

Thank you so much for opening my eyes. I had always wondered about the phone, but never knew. Now there is no doubt in my mind at all! That no doubt has played a great part in this tremendous brain fog I have developed over the past few months!!

As for the frequency used, it has no big difference unless we are talking about 6 Giga-Hertz and above (which becoming dangerous), because the lower frequencies may seem to have less effect than the high frequency transmissions, but the lower frequency penetrates much deeper than high frequency transmissions, so in all there is little difference regarding the effect they have on the body (if talking about the same power, more or less used by the devices).

To jewelie122, I do apologize for not responding sooner I was away,

Now this is my opinion about your questions, all the devises you have mentioned are designed to be used at home.

However, there are considerations to take, for example - I wouldn't use a baby-sense devise on my baby for it is 7-9 times more powerful than a cell phone (used far away from a tower) due to the early age and the high (relatively) exposure I wouldn't use it next to my children.

As for cordless phones, there are all sorts of phones, it is to hard to put them all together under one category, but to answer your question I'll tell you what I do, I have a cordless phone, even thou they usually are more powerful than cell phones, however I use it (very convenient) for short conversations (Honey don't forget to by some organic goat's milk), fore long conversations, I use regular phone with a cord (if I see that the conversation is going to be long I change phones).

As for wireless routers. They usually are working continually but the ordinary ones are usually not so powerful, but if the exposure is as such that you stay around it all the time (if someone is sleeping in that room where the wireless device is, or you spend a great deal of time working on the computer next to it) then a regular modem will be much better, I don't use wireless one (but it is mainly because I have no use for it in my house).

Speaking in general about certain devices (wireless or ones that have radiation)

What would I check before bringing it home:

* The amount of power which is used to activate them (less is better - there is a way to know it even with batteries).

* How far away will people be from the device (a single step away from it will drop the exposure in half,

a second step - 4 times less, a third step - 8 times less, a fourth step - 16 times less and so on).

* For how long the exposure is taking place.

Sorry, I don't buy the cell phone radiation crock. It's just like anything else, i.e., microwave ovens, somebody started some bogus thing about radiation nd nothing since. There was something out about so called cell phone radiation a fews back and apparently nothing was substantiated.

I would think that if you were on the cell phone 24 hours a day maybe there'd be some harm. Heck you could die just walking out of the house.

Thanks for the land-based portable phone advice Dr. Mercola. I have a 2.4 GhZ phone and I removed it upon reading this article. In just *minutes*, I noticed a hissing sound slowly dissipating in the air and my brain felt as if it was decontracting. I was totally astonished by that and I feel like a relief now.

Articles on cell phone radiation are always of interest to me. I have not been able to talk on a cell phone and hold it anywhere close to my head for several years. I get a horrible pain on the side of my head directly behind my ear on the side I use the phone. The pain will last for 30+ minutes, depending on how long the phone was near my ear. I thought I was crazy - as did the medical physicians I have been to about this problem. I have not had any type of CT scan to determine if that area has been visibly affected. I now use my blackberry only on speakerphone and hold it 12+ inches from my ear and I don't experience any pain. I would like to see more articles on specific case studies on other individuals who experience head pain when talking on their cell phone.

I would also like to see more articles on the effects of wireless routers - we have several in our office building and one at our home. My children are within 30 feet of them frequently.

I've always believed that cell phones came with danger. I seldom use mine without the speaker phone and have done this since I've owned a phone with a speaker. Prior to that, I used the cell phone only occasionally. I shudder when I watch teenagers in the mall who seldom take it off their ear. - And they all seem to hold the phones directly on their ears. I thank you for the information and I intend to pass it on to others who scoff at the potential dangers of cell phones.
