I have a 2 year old daughter, and I have always chosen going to a Naturopath over going to a Doctor, (no offense to Doctors) so when I approached him about not wanting to vaccinate my child, he backed me up 100%, he even gave me natural drops which work in synchronicity with a child's developing immune system. My daughter has always been strong and healthy, she has never even had an ear infection or a common cold. When we come into contact with others who are sick with the flu or so on, once or twice she has developed a few symptoms and within a day her own immunity has fought it off, while others pump their poor children full of vaccines and then antibiotics, I am glad to say that no one will ever be able to make me think twice about my decision, I only wish more people would make an informed decision instead of just taking people's word that vaccines are safe, you only have to have half a brain to see the ingredients that go into vaccines to realise that it cannot be good for you.

This article is very compelling and I was riveted reading it. However, I have no idea why universal health care is even mentioned here. I am from Canada and we do not have mandatory vaccination. Our vaccines are voluntary (although you are, of course, guilted into getting them) and administered by public health nurses. We also have far less vaccines on our schedule than the U.S. I would say that private health care would increase vaccination since doctors are paid for each jab. I just wanted to note that since I felt the credibility of the article is hurt by this opinion, which is not based in reality, but is rather the ideological point of view of the writer.

I am a new Mom comming from a fully vaccinated family. Point of interest, 22 years ago I was forced by my elementary to school to be vaccinated (I cannot recall what for) and was not allowed to attend class until my parents showed proof of vaccination. The problem being that I was vaccinated in Manitoba and the records were left behind when my family moved to Alberta. So I was revaccinated in order to be able to attend school. We don't need a universal health system to be controlled by the world health so called authorities.

Anyhow, I am struggling with the idea of vaccinations and if some are more important than others or if we can do without them all. My child is now 4 months and still not vaccinated. We will see what the future brings but my intent is to make the best health decisions I can for her. Thank you for this article.

24 years ago, in Venezuela I was exposed to the news that the vaccines were linked to alergies, I had a newborn daughter and another 3 years old. I was myself suffering of alergies so, I decided not to vaccinate my youngest. I think I was right, my oldest got all the vaccines and now suffers alergies very bad, but my youngest does not and is very healthy, she had a son who now is 22 months old, who has been vaccinated with only the first dosis, 7 different vaccines when he was 2 months old. She did not want her son vaccinated but it was a war against the husband who finally forced her to do it in order for him give the permission to leave him and let his baby go out of state. Now the is still fighting in court, she got a religious exemtion but we don't know yet how this is going to end. She is buying time in order to the son to get older, in the case she is ordered by the judge to vaccinate. My daughter could get a college degree with all the knoledge that she had gotten in her search for the truth and the strong arguments that she could use some day. Thank you so very much for publishing this wonderful insightful article. I have 2 young boys, 3 yrs and 10 months who I have chosen not to vaccinate. I am always looking for legitimate articles to support my decision. I feel like I am looked upon as an overly concerned Mother when people find out I do not vaccinate. This article took away any kind of questions I had at all about my decision and I am completely at peace with it.

I will say however that a month ago, my youngest 9 mos at the time, contracted chicken pox. When I went to my pediatrician for confirmation, she urged me to give my oldest (3 yrs) the vaccination since he was not exposed to my younger son until he had the symptoms. He was in that 72 hour window that supposedly helps. I had literally 40 minutes to decide what to do because the office was closing and the next day would be out of the 72 hour window. I reluctantly allowed it, and although it did prevent him from contracting the virus in full, I worry about what it's doing to him all the time.

I'm just so thankful for experts of this calibur writing these needed articles so that parents can get more than just a one sided view into this debate. Thank you!!

I have been begging our second son to not vaccinate his two year old daughter since she was born! He is a nurse anesthetist and it is really hard to talk to him unless I have enough documentation to fill a book. THANK YOU FOR THIS ARTICLE!!! Maybe he can actually read and be "comfortable" with the documentation on this material.

This article is eye opening. It makes me feel for my children and other parents who are told when we take our little ones in for their one month, two month....four year check ups that they need this shot and that shot. We do have a say in if we want our children to have these shots and won't they still be able to enter kindergarden if they don't recieve all the "required" shots? I feel like we are lab rats ourselves. Isin't our government supposed to protect "we the people"?!
