There are people who are over eating because they think they are hungry when they are really just thirsty. I used to dislike water but forced myself to drink it. I have come to love water and do not drink anything else. I never thought I would like it. The better I take care of myself, the better I feel and the more I like what I'm doing to take care of myself.

You can't make a cup of tea if you have not put any water in the Jug.

A good test of adequate water consumption is to spit into a washbowl and if your saliva is thick creamy and

of limited quantity then-you are not drinking enough water.

If you drink two liters a day of filtered water after some weeks - you will find that your saliva is clear and volumious

I just heard a health care practitioner say "tea doesn't count as water." This strikes me as so absurd. If i drink a cup of water with my meal, guess what, it's mixed in with other elements. By that kind of thinking, my body can't recognize it as water. Yes, I'm pretty sure, in both Italy and France, people don't traditionally drink water. I doubt with all the tea drinking going on in India, England and Japan, they they also drink another 8 cups a day of water on top of it. This is such silliness. Do you think Australian Aboriginies or other desert peoples drank 8 cups of water a day? If you want to know what makes sense, just look at the way people have eaten traditionally. They didn't have highly educated overpaid idiots dissecting dead things to tell them what to eat. They had a relationship with nature, local wisdom, and ate locally grown foods in season - other than dried or fermented foods - but certainly, still primarily local. Duh.

I have been researching the best way to get good clean water into my family... and have concluded that an undercounter, carbon filter (multipure) OR undercounter ionizer (jupiter science) are the way to go... the latter is far more expensive, and I am trying to determine whether we should spring for it.

Re the best way to carry water around, I have bought Sigg bottles (aluminum exterior, with an inside coating) and stainless steel water bottles (greenfeet.com)... the Sigg bottles can hold juice, the stainless steel just water. These are what the kids take to school, and my husband and I carry around throughout our day. I had read enough about plastics to seek out alternatives.

I am not a scientist, and not extensively well-read on the challenge of getting the best water into our systems, but these have been my conclusions. I am a. disappointed in Mercola's article b. welcome any further insight on the subject.

Alkaline water is where we should be!! MOST all bottled water is acid. Go to the google search and learn about alkaline benefits of antiaging, hydration with microcluster molecules of water, detoxification and super hydration at the cellular levels.

You are right. The Japenese have been using these ionizers for over 30 yrs. and call them MEDICAL DEVICES. We Americans have alot to learn. Check out the benefits for you lilfe and family about Kangen properties.

Diabetes, A Simple Fix.

Diabetes is mainly a lack of water, salt, magnesium (found in dark greens) and Tryptophan, an amino acid found in eggs, beans, cottage cheese 4% (cheeses) and nuts.

The sequence is drinking water, 1/2 liter and taking .75 grams of salt. You start the salt at .75 grams and after a couple days you increase it to 1.5 grams per 1/2 liter. If the persons eyelids swell or ankles and possibly their fingers, then they would drink water and take no salt until the swelling is gone. When the swelling is gone, they would start the salt again but cut back on the amount. You can mix the salt into the water or just put the salt in your mouth and drink the water over the salt. Another way to take the salt is to put it into a capsule and take it like a pill or you can salt your food very heavily. 1/2 liter is 16.9 oz and .75 grams is 1/8 tsp.

A diabetic needs to eat 6 eggs every day. They don't need any insulin for eating eggs. There are no carbs in eggs or cheese. Also any diabetic class 1 (injecting insulin) or class 2 taking a pill, should eat 8-10 oz of green beans before going to bed. The green beans are low in carbs and have enough protein, magnesium and tryptophan to carry the body through the night. Our body works harder at night when we are sleeping then when we are up during the day time. The body will have the liver convert fat to sugar and dump it into the blood stream. Remember: The brain doesn't need insulin to use sugar and there is always an excess of sugar dumped into the blood.

Green beans reproduce another plant just like eggs reproduce a chicken and nuts reproduce a tree. Cheese comes from the butter fat (cream found on top of milk) it is loaded with amino acids. Meat, chicken and fish also contain amino acids, but it must be a live kill. After the second day, most of the amino acids are gone. Dark green is chlorophyll to our body.

......

I am 57 and am in top shape. People think I look 10 yrs younger. I physically act like I'm 30, I have no restrictions and via Yoga, running, weights, nutritional supplements, I am very fit. I believe everyone should take a high quality chelated multi mineral supplement as well as other supplements designed for their particular needs.

Osmosis and distilled water are acidic. Adding a teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) or potassium bicarbonate per gallon will make it more alkanine. I also add a teaspoon of Mercola's himalyan salt to my water per day. People cannot rely on their thirst sensation to determine when and how much water they need.- well documented by Dr. Bat, the dying of thirst in the desert with a full canteen of water example given by another poster, and even that hospitals throw an IV in folks when they are admitted realizing that nearly everyone entering are dehydrating. Drinking 2.5 quarts of water per day is an average and depends on your physiology, exercise/physical work, environment (humity), etc. Just like eating food depends on the calories you expend and your physiology, and anything else you put in your body...we are all different in a different environment. So please get over knocking the 2.5 quarts...its just the minimum most people need. Drinking water will not strip minerals YOU NEED from your body. In a properly functioning body (I.e. doesn't apply if you have a medical condition), your kidneys and other organs will not let you to get rid of nutrients it needs. Your body is very smart about this. We all know if you take too much of a certain vitamin, you will just piss out WHAT YOU DONT NEED. Your body regulates itself. I also drink a glass of water first thing in the morning and a glass of water a half hour before each meal to enrich the alkaline barrier in my stomach (per Dr. Bat). I also drink throughout the day. I observe my urine and it is normally light colored. If I get busy in meetings and can't drink it gets much darker. The more yellow color gives you feedback on how much toxic waste you are getting rid of. If clear, you may want to back off

I don't measure or count how many glasses of water I drink per day. but it is easily twice the recommended amount. I live in Phoenix, Az. it's hot. it's

to chase that with a nice glass of water :)
