I second what javamdnss said: some of you are confusing Macroevolution and Microevolution.

From my science class:

Microevolution - The theory that natural selection can, over time, take an organism and transform it into a more specialized species of that organism

Macroevolution - The hypothesis that the same processes which work in microevolution can, over eons of time, transform an organism into a completely different kind of organism

MikeM, your examples (viruses, bacteria, brown moths turning to black moths) are of microevolution. Those creatures are not changing species, just specializing. We see this all around us (dogs with brown fur, dogs with white fur, humans with brown eyes, humans with green eyes.) Saying marine mammals have bones, shoulder girdles, etc. they don't need, is like saying humans don't need their tonsils or appendix. It's assumption. Maybe they do need those bones. Maybe they don't. We do not know FOR SURE. You said "Evolution is NOT a theory. It is fact..." That is another assumption. Maybe we did evolve. Maybe we didn't. But we cannot prove it one way or the other.

Let's remember none of us were around when the world began. We haven't proven Macroevolution to be the way life came about. Nor have we proven any other explanation for life on this planet. But we do have the freedom to choose what we believe, so long as we keep in mind that others have the same freedom and what each of us believe on this subject has not been proven. Of course, we may debate! If I believe aliens brought life to Earth, I may, right? I may present evidence supporting my belief, too. But I may not say it has been proven-without-a-doubt. How could I?

Guys, read the great book on the subject, amazingly not quoted in the article (that I noticed at least) called The Heart's Code, by Paul Pearsall. It was written years ago in 1999 but discusses in great detail this very subject. Besides the examples in the book, there are innumerable examples recounted by surgeons all over the world.

We are more than the flesh that makes up what you see. On a fundamental level we are just energy anyway. Why would this be so hard to believe?

I just think the wife should be checked out thoroughly, another black widow maybe? Anyway, I'm not a donor, I plan to use my organs for what ever purpose, good or bad, and when I'm done, nobody is going to want them. Selfish, okay, I have 1 life, and I'm not afraid to use it! love life and plan to be totally wasted when I'm finally done and my organs are not going to be worth a penny. As far as other people's organs in someone else, my brother had a heart transplant and he's still a creep; but I do believe some of these stories. I believe anything is possible.

Many do not realize that everything is run on frequencies - electricity. Everyone's frequency is as different as their fingerprints.

Many refuse to believe that things like this exist and take little notice as to how they react when a pretty blond, red head or whatever walks into a room and their frequencies hit the roof, nor will many accept that you have many "brains" or storage centers in the body. The lungs, kidneys, heart, liver and such; but, science will one day take note that this is true.

Scripture speaks of matters of the "heart" as well as the "mind". They are separate; however, the law converts the heart and the whole person as shown in Psalms 19.

Our every cell has a library that is greater than any computer we have on the market today. The DNA strand when taken from a cell is around 8 foot long; believe it, or don't. In the DNA is our history from all our parents, parent's parents and so on ... many have tapped into this library and thought they have had previous lives ... giving avenue to false information. You die, that is it until you are ressurected, you do not come back as a cat or canary; but, sins are passed down for 4 generations - the sexual sins that is ... but, the information of all your ancestors are passed down in the DNA.

Every organ in your body secretes things that science cannot even see in the most powerful microscopes at this time ... for instance, what is making up the cell membrane that keeps all the fluid from the cell from spilling out? It is things smaller than the atom. The heart sends out these things so small that effects other organs including the brain, to do certain things for the body ... everyone's function though similar - similar IS NEVER THE SAME, making the body function according to what is sent out.

When another's heart sends out these things, then the body the heart was placed into gives life to him having it - but; the receiver is actually the donor for the giver. None want you to know it.

Because I have No Idea who my new liver came from , it is a scary thing to think you may take on some of their personalities . If it is true, maybe that explains why I have been so angry and depressed. Of coarse it could be from all the meds I have to take now, after not ever taking ANY before transplant. I have only had this liver for 3 months now and I have had new cravings for fast food and soft drinks that I used to avoid. I hope thats all I get. I think I will do a candida cleanse just to see If I can get rid of any bad bacteria. I wonder if it would hurt to do a liver cleanse. I dont know how the person died but I sure dont want to find out the wrong way.

Mike M. Logic?? Guess what REAL scientists do? - They back their statements up with solid, hard facts. Simply repeating your opinion won't make what you say any more convincing. Your comments only appear more naive as you continue to post. To bring religion into topic only compounds your lack of credibility, in my opinion. If we use your line of reasoning then --The information in the bible (less generalized than 'religion', for example) is not theory, but readily provable fact (it has been seen and documented too many times to count, both in the geologic record as well as modern day...it's continues today)--. Although I think this true, It's funny how the display of my alternate opinion to yours, while using the same quality "reasoning" you used, will probably be a very poor and opinionated comment in your eyes. Rightly so.

I'm not out to argue. After all it's everyone's own decision as to what they believe. Just don't go spreading your BS arguments to the unaware- It's not sustainable.

I found the article interesting. My brother was an organ donor. He was generous, caring, patient, kind, and loving. I can only hope some of that stayed with the organs that went onto others. Each year on the anniversary of his death, i can't help thinking fo the folks who got the phone call saying that they were getting the gift of a second chance. I never did hear from any of the recipients, but i'd like to think that no matter what, they were glad to have the opportunity to have a second chance.

There are somewhat 7 Billion! people on this planet, an unbelievable number... and those 3 or 4 cases can't even be expressed by a statistical number. I truly believe in the amazing powers of our bodies and the divine order of all things, but unfortunately most stories, like this one, lack provable data and are solely based on assumption!

I saw a documentary by a scientist researching the heart and he said the heart actually had a memory because it had a brain of its own - this was something that had been physiologically explored. I wish I remembered more details to tell you. There are some experiments that have been done that show that the heart has a form of memory.

I hate the way Americans use discussion boards to bring up stuff about the Bible whatever the topic is - it gets very tedious and is highly inappropriate. That doesn't tend to happen on British discussion boards and I think it should be a rule of discussion forums that people don't use them to proselytize.

I'm getting frustrated with the "either/or" here. It is possible to believe in God and science at the same time...many scientists so. Perhaps God used the mechanism of Evolution to create the world. Jesus spoke to people in parables. Perhaps the Genesis version of creation is a parable. Perhaps the six days of creation represents 6 billion years. I don't know. There are many things that just don't have answers or proof. There is no proof of God. We only have faith. There is no proof of Evolution otherwise it would be a law and not merely a theory. Right now we don't have definitive answers to many things, least of all the consequences of organ transplants.

I found this article interesting. I am a donor mother. We lost our 28 year old son 16 years ago in a traigic car accident. He was a tissue and organ donor. We have had the pleasure of meeting 2 of his recipients. I just zipped this article off to one of them and asked her to give me feedback on it. Think if Dean might have passed anything along it would have been his ability to ALWAYS be late and not give it a second thought. :-)! He loved life and lived it to the fullest.

This is very interesting as there are numerous stories like this, though most don't have the unfortunate ending of this one. There are many stories where someone who received a heart from a donor that was a musician, and that person started to play the guiter which the doner played for years, even though the recipient had no interest in music prior and never touched an instrument. The donor even knew word for word a song that the young victim had written to his gf that was found by the parent months later which no one saw prior to this.

In China, it's known that the mind is not simply in the brain and memories are stored in ones own chi and spirit. Since the heart and liver are known to have a lot to do with how a person things and their feelings, especially the heart, it is logical then that a persons memories, feelings and personalities would get transferred to another person. We are being of energy and light, not just the crude matter that we see. There is so much more to life than the body or the flesh, but the energy, chi and spirit are the true parts of our life. Since our memories are also stored in our Chi they can transfer to another person via organ donation.

There is something called "cellular memory" where the memories of your ancestors gets passed down to sucessive generations. It is believed that this could be one reason why some people get such strong impulses or feelings that they have lived before, have certain knowledge they never learned or lived in someplace that they have never lived. Many times it turns out that an ancestor also lived in such a place. It's possible that the feelings and memories of ones ancestors can be passed on many generations later. This could be the basis for the beleif in reincarnation, which can be true to a certain degree and incidents like this only add evidence to those claims.
