IT IS FAR LESS EFFICIENT THAN GASOLINE, REQUIRING THAT YOU BURN MORE OF IT TO GET THE SAME ENERGY. IT TAKES 30% MORE ENERGY TO PRODUCE THAN IT RETURNS, CONSIDERING ALL THE STEPS IT TAKES TO MANUFACTURE. THE DEMAND FOR FOOD TO CONVERT TO FUEL IS CAUSING PEOPLE TO GO HUNGRY. IT IS NOT "RICH CONSUMERS" IN GENERAL WHO ARE DEMANDING IT, BUT RICH IDIOT LIBERAL ECO-FOOLS WHO THINK THEY KNOW BETTER THEN EVERYONE ELSE WHAT IS GOOD FOR THE ECOLOGY. My family farmed for over 100 years in Maryland, my uncles and Aunts are still farming. We have made a concious decision to use nothing with petroleum in it except to gas up our car. We are downsizing and tightening up our wallets, Everything is coming full circle.

In the Depression, my Great Grandparents always had food for 12 children, they are gone now but their children and grand children and great grandchildren are all getting together in August and helping Our family pick their crops. We will then can for a couple of weeks and share with each other.

It truly will take a Village to weather what is coming next in our economy. I believe we need to stick together, tighten our wallets, dump the Credit cards and be happy with what we have. Right here and right now. It took the loss of my Mother and Father to realize that nothing is more important than getting it right with family and friends and helping each other. Monsanto needs to take their GMO's and burn them, they are poison to the environment, land, lakes, rivers and our ecosystem. Read the Book the Seeds of Destruction or Google the website. GMO agent Bacillus Thuringensis is in roundup ready food and is chemically and molecularly the same as ANTHRAX.

I do not think anyone can deny that there is some sort of change in the climate. Here where I live we have had unbelievable storms and wind and much COLDER WEATHER.However, just because there are more storms, floods, heat waves, etc., does not mean "we" are causing it. I used to believe in the whole global warming thing. All the guilt, brainwashing, I am a scumbag for using too much, etc.....

After many hours of research and reading, I have come to believe that YES there is climate change. Duh! I can see it with my own eyes after living here for over thirty years and noticing the weather. But we are not the cause.

It's a scam to collect "carbon taxes" from us and rip us off more to line their coffers and it's also a way for stock traders and big companies to make money by trading and exchanging "carbon credits"! What a beautiful scamsystem, and the American public is guilt tripped into believing that because we produce a lot of CO2 that we are the cause! The damn liberals are no better than the neo-cons. ITS ALL A CON!

ON INFO WARS TODAY THERE WAS AN ARTICLE ABOUT A MAN IN ENGLAND WHO WAS ARRESTED FOR DROPPING AN APPLE CORE ON THE STREET! Do you see how they do this? Now he I am sure must "pay a fine" for not being environmentally cool enough! Good God, what is next? If the public does not get wise to this type of crap, they are going to fleece us blind right into the poor house. In addition they sent round garbage snoops at ten at night with flashlights to look into the cans to see if everyone is re-cycling correctly! This kind of micro mangement control is just the beginning. This is fascisim pure and simple.

Here's a little tip on getting more tomatoes off your plant. In fact double

or even triple. Lay your plants down and bury them high up the stem.

They put out a bigger root system and therefore get more nutrition into

the plant and produce more tomatoes.

Wow, is this a hot topic??? Anyway. Is anyone familiar with Switzerlands Kompo Company. They are in several countries now. They have a system that takes table scraps, newspapers, yard clippings, etc and puts it through a controlled ol fashion compost. They capture the gases for fuel, have the capability to convert energy to electricity back to the grid and final stage is an organic compost. I am involved with helping a fellow farmer in my neck of the woods establish one of these units for our community. I am a vegetable, herb, fruit and hop farmer trying to become certified organic so my own personal interest in this mans endeavors is obvious. Even in a small midwestern (USA) community many of my neighbors are being affected by the increase in cost at the pump and the grocery store, so whether the shortage is a scam or not is a mute point. People all over the world are being hurt by this. I am fortunate to be able to fill up my tank about 1x/2-3weeks because I keep my business close to my community. I put up enough food to get my family of 5 through the winter. I still believe we have the ability to do something about this situation. I may not be able on my farm to feed the world but I know if I do it right I can feed a larger portion of my community for less than they're paying now and they, in turn are happy to pay me enough to help me keep doing this. I don't have to be rich but I do have to be happy and this life/work albeit very hard does make me very happy. I believe that if more landowners could be convinced to do what I am doing, we would have enough to go around. I do see a level of greed and propaganda that dupes to many folkes into thinking it can't be done. I'm just daring to say, yes it can and the reason I know it can is because I'm living proof. I encourage everyone to quit blaming or looking to govts. Look at themselves, ask what they can do, don't underestimate their capabilities, TRY. Contribute their efforts, small/large.TRY

Please read the book 'Diet for a small planet' by Frances Moore Lappe. I must admit to having my inner eyes opened to the reality of food in the this world. There is abundance beyond our knowledge. Remember there is some form of hysteria being created and people do suffer, but Monsanto IS AT THE ROOT of all food problems. They are NOT the knights in shining armour. If they get a monopoly on the food industry, which could happen if we let them, then they control the essence of survival. Feed us with genetic abberations and chemicals thus destroying health. We will become dependent on them. Then they control everything. They are not beneficiaries of society, but actually are in it for what they can get...the word I would use is 'GREED' for wealth. It's insane. Read the book, written before the turn of the century, get the 'real' history on this company. With love to all you citizens of the community.

Algae is a good option but it wont take off unless it produces usable and "profitable' by-products. What can be done with the waste will determine whether or not major companies take it on. After all, gasoline is not the only thing we get from petrol. Take every car off the road and nearly every other thing we depend on daily is derived from petrol by products.

One of the main advantages of using algae for biofuels is that you grow it in ocean water (in abundant supply) and set up the whole operation in desert areas (for the abundant solar power) or in coastal regions. As to the comments that climate change is not happening - what planet are you people living on? Do you really think that the vast majority of climate scientists in the world are just making this stuff up? And please, quit referring to a "liberal media" - that's a term that is bogus and not at all factual. It's actually a corporate media. Was the media "liberal" in the run up to the Iraq war? I think not. Those crying "liberal media" sound like a bunch of parrots. Give me a break!
