I was talking with someone May 14 who was positive that Ron Paul had put himself out of the running months ago because he'd seen a program on CNN, I think it was, where someone was reading a letter from R. Paul to that effect.. So - where are we?

Paul believes that recognizing or legislating marriages should be left to the states. For this reason, he voted against the Federal Marriage Amendment in 2004. He spoke in support of the Defense of Marriage Act, passed in 1996, which limited the Constitution's Full Faith and Credit Clause by allowing states to refuse to recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states. He co-sponsored the Marriage Protection Act, which would have barred judges from hearing cases pertaining the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act. Paul has said that federal officials changing the definition of marriage to allow same-sex marriage is "an act of social engineering profoundly hostile to liberty." Paul stated that "Americans understandably fear" the nationwide legalization of same-sex marriage. He says that in a best case scenario, governments would enforce contracts and grant divorces but otherwise have no say in marriage.

I agree with a lot of Ron Pauls ideas but as a person with many liberal values do not want a conservative christian running the country. I'm assuming he is because of all the talk about God in comments following every article about him on the mercola site I belive in God but follow no religion as human dysfunction has flawed every religion. For example when I was a christian church goers would talk about gay people and their sin but then go stand outside the church to smoke a cigarette. The bible talks about all sins being equal and too many christian have confusing values like this. These same chrisiians even smoked around their children(child abuse) but think gay people are not fit to be parents. 90% of the chrisians I have met have these mixed up values so I will definetly not vote for someone who is asssociated with godly values. I reallly don't want to vote for anyone because I look at a person's compassion and spiritual growth and their psycological dysfunction and not one canidate is an aware, compassionate, out of denial person. Hillary and obama definetly aren't. They are setting horrible example for young people with the way they verbal attack each other. Each one of us does the things in our life because of the imprint our childhood had on us. When we deal with this, we grow into adults spiritually and emotionally. Thank God I'm growing up now and able to see my flaws, and look at life and people based on the truths that God made for us and use the wonderful tools such as EFT to be the open, healthy, compassionate person he designed me to be. The majority of the people I meet who talk about Godly values want to force these values on other people which is not compassionate or spiritually mature. This is very dangerous because of those mixed up values we get from out damaged childhoods. Some chrisians I have met even think some things like EFT and muscle testing are of the devil. See what I mean?

I am very disturbed that anyone would mention Ron Paul and Alan Keyes in the same breath! Alan Keyes would not uphold the constitution because he is to blinded by religion. One of the basis of the constitution is seperation of church and state. That would be obliterated by Keyes. He hates gays and lesbians even though his daughter is a ***. He needs to keep his narrow minded agenda to himself and stay out of politics. If anyone out there needs any clarification on how frightening this country would be if Keyes were president I suggest they go live in Saudi Arabia for a year and then evalutate if they would like Keyes for president. He would turn our country into a christian version of what the Saudis have and then we would really need a revolution! It's easy for people like joyfulspirit and susanf to endorse Alan Keyes because they have never had to live under a religious fanatic government that Alan Keyes would surely turn our goverment into! So ladies good for you and your moral superiority but keep it in your church please, that's one of the reasons our founding fathers fled England and wrote the constitution in the first place. Ron Paul is the only candidate period!

There are many meetup groups (www.meetup.com, type in Ron Paul and zip code) across the country and overseas just getting started educating the public about the real condition our country is in. Ron Paul "Gets it", No other candidate speaks the language of freedom and liberty as Dr. Paul does.

Get his book, "Revolution, a Manifesto". No one could explain issues they way he does.

Because of his Constitutional endorsement, I am a Missouri delegate along with my daughter, who intoduced me to Dr. Paul and his ideas. He awoke a sleeping fire within me to do what is right for this Nation.

Ahhh, now I have it. We eliminate the income tax and make just a property tax or if you will a wealth tax. For millionaires only, both personal and corporate. We could especially include foreign owners of land, stock, bonds, etc. Maybe everything of dollar value in this country except stuff owned by cities, counties, and states could be taxed.

How big a tax would be needed? One percent? Two? The base is pretty stable and even when we sell stuff to foreign owners, we still tax it. But it keeps us out of most opportunities for tax fraud. It captures the money that people make illegally on drugs etc. To avoid tax you'd have to secretly invest overseas or horde cash. I think that a few hundred forensic accountants would suffice to keep it working well.

At one percent, the minimum tax bill other than zero would be $10,000 and the reporting would be vastly easier, even for them.

But of course this is all silly, the president can't do any of that stuff, Congress makes laws and they would not to what he says. So why bother to elect him? What good would it do?

If people like Ron Paul, they should implement his reforms. But how can they if he can't be elected?

Simple. they need to organize a tax strike until their demands are met. Its either the corporations and big money running things or us, but we need to get a lot tougher if we are going to have any impact. Let Ron lead the tax strike if he is so serious. Don't let his candicy go to waste if not elected, folks.

THEN I WENT DOWNTOWN TO THE PALACE THEATER TO HEAR RON PAUL SPEAK. AGAIN A CROWD OF PEOPLE ( about l,ooo or so ) STILL NO SIGN OF POLICE OR SECRET SERVICE, FUNNY THING THOUGH; WHILE WALKING TO THE PALACE THEATER ON FOURTH ST. I AND MANY OTHERS WERE STOPPED BY ALL KINDS OF LOCAL POLICE, STATE TROOPERS, AND SECRET SERVICE NOT ALLOWING ANYONE TO PASS. SEEMS LIKE HILLORY WAS STAYING AT THE SEALBACH HOTEL AND THERE WAS ABOUT 8-12 PEOPLE THERE THAT CHEERED WHEN THEY POSSIBLY SAW HER.
