This is just another excuse to find because there child is hard to conduct. The childs behaviour is purely dependant on the childs up-bringing, other things it can depend on are the location, influence of friends and sweets, fizzy drinks etc. Ok so hyperactivity could be a result of mutated cells during pregnancy, but is this not just a correlation? Hyperactivity can also be a result of fizzy drinks, but this has never become a major health risk. Heres another correlation for you, Hayfever amounts rise when more ice cream sales are made, but are these linked? no, hayfever amounts rise because it is summer, and the amoutn of icecream sales rise because it is summer, icecream is not a cause of hayfever! so why would mobile phone radiation be a reason that a child cannot make friends or behave. I rest my case!

Can anyone cite specific studies or other examples to support the argument that we should avoid wi-fi?

Mercola advises readers not to go near wi-fi in offices. How can one do this? A router sits inches from my head when I sit at my desk at work, and the person who would have authority to move it to a "safer location" doesn't believe it is a danger and doesn't want to relocate it. What respectable studies or other information could I present to this person to persuade her to move it, or to persuade her to relocate my work station? I'm sure I'll be a laughing stock unless I can present some respectable sources that at least advise taking precautions. Can anyone provide links to other good sources and professionals (ones which my employer wouldn't consider "quack-like")?

Also, is there a recommended safe distance one could sit from a router?

Found this out when my husband brought home a laptop with a wireless connection, and he turned it on and there were six or seven wireless networks available. Dr. Mercola's not fearmongering (big industries do that to pressure you into buying or vaccinating or whatever). He's just telling the truth or just bring up something to be considered. I think it's perfectly plausible that people's daily habits are resulting into a silent epidemic. And to those who said hyperactivity is due to poor parenting, you're wrong. I can say this much. Behavioral problems may reflect on parenting, but that does NOT mean society should go for a quick fix by labeling just about any child out of line as sick/disordered and putting children left and right on medication.

What worries me aren't the cell phones. That can be avoided. But things like Wi-Fi can't. A local router doesn't emit as much electromagnetic waves as a cell phone, but I'm still a bit uneasy.

Industry will always be in denial. It's only after so many people are harmed by something of theirs do people say no more to it. Then it just happens over again with something else.

The worst seems to be a possible 80% increase in `difficulties with behaviour'. Life threatening? You decide. But I ask again, what's the absolute risk? 80% of not much is still not much. Prime example of misuse of numbers to create a panic.

Pardon me, but I'm not completely convinced at the cell phone dangers. I just got rid of it because I hate it. I do however, keep my eye open to the potential dangers. I use to carry my phone in my pocket all the time, then transfered it to my car and kept it there all the time. Then it got to a point where I was never ever answering it because it was off all the time.

This week, I am away from my home for 4days, and I forgot my cell phone. That is the best accident ever. I don't have my phone and now 95% of my communication is through e-mail (the rest are the VERY few times I am home)

I don't know how my parents will take this anti-cell phone thing, but it saves me money, and if that isn't enough for them, I'll pull the "I'm 18" card on them:)

The study proves nothing. The same data might be obtained by studying

a set of people who eat one apple a day vs. people who eat none. Not only that, their was no control group in this study. Mercola's comment that cell phone usage is one of the primary causes of autism is balderdash. I was truly amazed to read that. Ask the thousands of married couples that saw their healthy baby get gravely ill always AFTER vaccination if cell phones are the culprit.

Henderson was bunk. We can't blame the parents all the time, or the school system...and that last commentor was doing the research, it looks like. The sweeping statements, like "all Chinese use too much MSG" are the ones I'm referring to when I say, please don't make statements you can't back up with facts. One of the most useful classes I took in college was called "Critical thinking". It taught us to analyze statements we heard on the media, or just from other people talking, and use good reasoning and logic to determine whether they were valid or not. You are almost always wrong when you make a general, sweeping, all-inclusive statement that starts with "all" or everybody...
