Don't forget that chewing raw parsley is one of nature's best remedies for bad breath. And it's cheap, too. ;-)

A close friend passed away from throat cancer. He had no history of cancer in the family, didn't smoke, didn't drink, ate healthy. The doctors think the cancer may have come from gargling excessively with mouthwash. He was a doctor and when he talked to his patients he wanted to have fresh breath. I live in a relatively small town. A few months after his death, an acquaintance told me about her friend who died of throat cancer due to mouthwash. I find out it was not my friend she was talking about. Two people who died of throat cancer because of mouthwash? Wonder how many more people have died? I really don't think that fresh breath is worth dying for....

I have been using an essential oil product called Oram Plus which I mainly use to replace toothpaste and can also be used as a mouthwash or breath freshener.

Within the first week of using this product my gums stopped bleeding and my breath had improved greatly and I still use it 2 years later.

I also believe it is important to get the balance right in the stomach and probiotics have helped there as well.

I know that I used to have really bad morning breath when I would wake up. In the last 3-4 months of being on a much healthier diet and eating little to no refined sugar or white flour, the bad breath has gone away, along with many other problems.

Even though I was following somewhat healthy diet with no sugar and grains, and with lots of probiotics and fermented foods, I still suffered strong odor with sore throat feeling.

It went away almost immediately when I stopped eating cheese. Some sort of allergy I guess.

I find no matter what I eat, if I eat a lot of veggies it masks any of those things that make your breath smell bad. For some reason fresh raw vegetables really takes that away, not sure why, but it does. I usually take into consideration what I eat last when I eat as I've found vegetables (like peppers, cauliflower and broccoli), so long as you eat them last, take away any chance of bad breath that other foods could cause.

I'm surprised you guys haven't heard of Gary Nulls aptly named Oral Pleasure. A hydrogen peroxide containing, essential oil packed, delicously cherry flavored,mouth wash. gargle a bit, and your tongue foams up nicely, you then tongue scrape from back to front repeatedly till all that gunk is off, and voila a healthy pink cherried breath tongue, with which to lick your chops

Don't forget that ingesting the "super greens" like Wheatgrass or Green Kamut will also take away bad breath because it helps change the body from an acidic to alkaline state.

Odors of the mouth, like Dr. Mercola says, are a sign that the GI tract is in trouble - not to mention other areas of the body. And the most effective way is to avoid acidic foods (sugar being the worst) and consume lots of alkaline foods.

The most fabulous book I can highly recommend for anyone concerned about health is "The pH Miracle" by Dr. Robert O. Young.

A definite MUST READ!

I cant believe they are making mouthwashes that use, basically, MMS! Miracle Mineral Supplement. Although you need to 'activate' it in order to be truly a miracle. Then it can cure abscessed teeth and everything.

I found some tea tree toothpicks, you chew, at the good food store that I am also pretty excited about.

Sodium chlorite is also a powerful (according to the literature) drug (an antipathogen, mainly) used in alternative therapies. Anyone curious about its many uses should Google it and MMS. I have yet to use it, but am excited with what I've read from various sources. I nor anyone I know have any financial interests in it.

I found that mint oil drops works well for me. A company makes a nice 3.7 ml dropper bottle. over the years the food additive reps have convinced them that people will not buy it unless it is dyed blue and sweetened with sacrin. So I just refill the bottle with pure mint oil.
