She believes in her own mind that she's eating right and the swelling just won't go away. She eats sweets, carbs, salt, you name it, so I know it's what she's eating that partially to blame. We won't know if there is something else going on with her unless she starts getting serious about her health. Within the last 2 years, and even more so within the last month, she has started losing enormous amounts of potassium. She cramps up, is in pain, and feels like passing out. Her doctor keeps giving her Lasix and she keeps taking it. It takes a day to work now. She also said she started using Splenda as a low-calorie sweetener. Her urine started have an awful odor, so she stopped. The smell went away. How can they tout this as a safe alternative to sugar and that it's safe for diabetics??? If Mom won't quit Lasix, what else can she do to help the swelling and alleviate the symptoms of low potassium. She has to take a large amount to replace what was lost. Losing large amounts of potassium is dangerous. If you have any ideas, other than her taking drugs to release the water, please let me know. At least I can make her aware of her options if she still chooses to take Lasix.

At the moment, it's kind of restrictive, I measure everything out. This has resulted in a 25 lb. weight loss. The added benefit is that my blood pressure has gone back to normal. This is w/o a regular exercise program to aid in the weight loss. I was elated when the doc told me that it was normal!! Another benefit is that I'm not nauseated anymore. No heart burn either. It seems nearly impossible for me to cut out fat so I use olive oil on my veggies and even on my chicken. I plan on purchasing coconut oil too to help with the metabolism. My husband hates all that good for you stuff but I can at least make it up for my children! Let me give a little bit of background on myself, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism in 1992 and Cushing's disease in 2003. I'm on .3mg of Synthroid and .7mcg of Cytomel. I was supposed to be on growth hormone but the insurance company won't approve me for it. I had pituitary surgery in December of 2003. It has taken me this long to actual start feeling well. Changing my eating habits has made a great difference in my energy levels. After surgery I was told to lose weight, I couldn't, then I was told I was insulin resistant after that. My endo wanted me on Metformin and then try a weight loss drug with that. NO WAY! My insulin tested normal most of the time. I just want to add from my own testimony, that eating properly does work. For my body type, more protein is the key. I have rice in the afternoon and grapefruit, morning, evening, and snack (I also chew the seeds with the pulp!). I feel better everday. I figure it's going to take more time to get my strength and stamina back. Any ideas on antioxidants? And vitamins? Anyway, I just wanted to give my little testimony that eating raw and steamed veggies does work and eating lean meats does work for lowering blood pressure. Forget dangerous beta blockers! Have that oil too! It's delicious!

The doctors gave her drugs that made her feel worse; telling her she will have to take them for the rest of her life.

My father healed himself with herbs from a serious sickness 15 years ago and with the knowledge gained he made her herbs to alleviate the high blood pressure and the problem was gone within a week. This was two years ago and no problems since.

My friend who is a mechanic also had very bad high blood pressure. He had to quit work because of very bad lethargy. What was worse was that he could not sleep at night.

This went on for about 4-5 months when I told him about my dad's herbs. (I didn't believe in them)

He had tried drugs and alternative methods but nothing helped.

He took my dad's herbs and they started working the next (or was it the same day...) day.

On the first day he had what some call a 'healing crisis'. He felt horrible, as if getting a massive caffeine shot. He could not get any sleep during the night as his body felt as if it was getting dredged. In the morning he had what he described as momentary blockages in his veins. He would strongly massage these blockages and they would 'shoot' ahead and eventually they were gone.

Though it appears that he drank too much in his eagerness.

The first day was a bit rough but the second day was better. Before the end of the week all (obvious) signs of his high blood pressure disappeared and he had full energy again.

Prior to taking the herbs he had a thumbnail size bump on his neck which the doctors said nothing could be done about. Though I think he said that the doctor mentioned an operation. By the end of the week this bump was gone. My friend felt great and keeps on feeling great and highly recommends these herbs to everyone.
