Ok so one piece a day is OK even a bowl of full fat ice cream is OK for the calcium. His theory is EFA's destroy cancer. Also this diet is good for diabetics and for losing weight.

People in this country do not realize how diabolical the food industry is, that it is responsible for the cancer epidemic as well as the diabetic epidemic and obesity, And I know where I live few people can afford the relatively few organics available. Big tobacco owns the pharmaceuticals and their driving force is to addict us all. That means high fructose syrups, msg in all its forms and fake flavors labeled as "natural', Soy protein is also useless like tofu and soymilk.

As for sugar whenever i bake a cake i use Xylitol. it tastes just as good as sugar is a little less sweet with half the calories.

Before 1920 cancer was almost non-existant.

Also apparently meat protein has more minerals that veggies and makes it more avalilable to digestion. EFA's increase oxygenation.

I need to get back to reading it I know my world is being blown upside down. But i think this time I'm getting it.

The book is over 500 pages with extensive research and easy to read. Like Dr mercola he recommends "raw" milk ...for me that is totally unavailable. he also advises on the Essiac formula as a daily detox because as you know just from the air we breath ...and if you drink tap water....every mother's breast milk is full of metals and contaminates.

Cocanut oil apparently does not have an effect on curing cancer nor fish oil. He claims that all this hype about fiber is ..well he says all the nutrients in fiber are bound up to water and are not I say NOT available to our bodies. I have a hard time with this because my body responds well to a meatless diet and especially for curing colds a broth of dark greens and and beets cures it .

Fruit smoothies - again you can make your own. That way you control what fruit, what protein - what does and does not go in your smoothie.

If you must buy - then read the label to see what is in the product. Shop and buy foods with low or no sugar, low fat - yes you can do it - just read the labels. But again - the freshest and best is what you make.

On salads and salad toppings - my husband makes fresh low cal diet dressings and healthy delicioues topping for mixed salads. The salad overall comes down to less then a 100 calories, very healthy.

You are confusing "chefs" and "cooks." See? Not even spelled the same way. I can assure you that a good third of my curriculum was food chemistry and nutrition(and fairly progressive nutrition, at that), and that we seldom used microwave ovens and never used MSG, in school or on the job. And I stand by what I said about how the persistence of certain culinary habits of a people proves the benefit[or lack of harm] of the habits. A culture typically discards those eating behaviors that do not encourage survival--don't touch that, little caveman, that's rotting! There are exceptions, of course. To wit: if Americans persist in eating the SAD way, in the future, Greeks and Okinawans, who will still exist, will be debating the hypothesis that the SAD predicted the extinction of homo Americanus.

She either doesn't lose weight this way or will lose but gain it all right back. She is also stuck on anything that is sweetened with Splenda or any type of articficial sweetener to stay lowfat and lean but it doesn't work that well (she is already thin . I can't stand anything like that. I've been more successful eating fresh, no grains (only once in a while when I really crave and in a small portion to satisfy), and lean meats. If I do eat grains, my belly swells up to make me look as if pregnant. Also, alcohol of any sort does the same. I bloat very easily and swell from it, even if it's just a sip or two of my favorite beverage (love cream liquers but can't have 'em anymore).

Are any of you familiar with the Coronary Health Improvement Project or CHIP from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in California. Dr. Hans Diehl has over 20 years of evidenced based research in the US and worldwide) that going back to simpler foods (whole grains, fruits, nuts and legumes) is the best for creating a heatlher lifestyle. It has also been implemented in cities and worksites around the country and has lowered insurances costs at some of these sites.

http://www.sdachip.org/

www.ecommunity.com/.../index.aspx

I am a health care provider and I was appalled that my husbands clinician jumped on the statin bandwagon without nutritional counseling or discussion. My husaband is a ski racer and is in excellent health...except he did not eat what I cook and his cholesterol went to 290. I had the skeptical one complete the 4 week CHIP program and at the end his cholesterol was 154. It has stayed down and he is now the the unofficial posterboy for CHIP. He is 54 and tells me everyday about another one of his peers on medications (He is on NO meds for anything!) I think that anything processed, has one ingredient that you cannot say or don't know what it is or includes "natural" flavors, should not be going into your body. The dairy and meat industries have consumers so brainwashed that you need protein that there is a forgetfulness about the "processing" aspects. Same with GMO crops.

Try home cooking. It does get easier as you practice more. No Fear! Begin simply and get a system. eat whole grain cereals for breakfast. It takes less than 5 minutes to make an oatmeal of 7 grain cereal. I make an oat bake with a plain fruit filling (usually blueberries or strawberries and it cuts up to 16 bars) Its cheaper and healthier. I make all of our food for the week on Sunday afternoons and it makes my work week a breeze and saves a ton of money and doctor bills.

Be well!

Raw goats milk, fermented wih kefir, mixed with 3 raw egg yolks, (carefully washed shells). The whites are cooked in 18/10 stamped stainless steel, maybe with some beeffor or chicken liver/heart or other offal. A piece of rye cracker with thick butter and some non-clover honey (no coumarin) The eggs and chicken parts may contain some SV40 oncovirus, but they are very healthgiving, so I let my CD 4 white blood cells take care of the vius. The CD4 are very active due to organic germanium, selenium and vitamin C supplementation.

I live in Europe and have visited Italy and Greece numerous times. The olive oil scam bases the so called Med. diet on fish, fruit and vegies, and olive oil. That is not what they traditionally ate/eat. For obesity look at soy with its thyroid disrupting hormones, the anti-depressant meds, look at aspartame and sugar ( in sodas, cookies and icecreams etc), add to that the original high intake of bread and potatoes, plus the inactivity, so why shouldnt there be obesity? The un-exercising Italians, Greeks and Spanish are hardly a picture of good health. However extra extra extra virgin is the olive oil, it does contain the three plant phenols that will take you to a malignancy. Sorry. This is 2008, and as the knowledge moves forward, so must we be flexible in our decisions.

This is an age-old approach practiced in most traditional cultures. Sprouting begins germination, which increases the enzymatic activity in foods and inactivates substances called enzyme inhibitors. These enzyme inhibitors prevent the activation of the enzymes present in the food and, therefore, may hinder optimal digestion and absorption. Soaking neutralizes phytic acid, a component of plant fiber found in the bran and hulls of grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds that reduces mineral absorption. All of these benefits may explain why sprouted foods are less likely to produce allergic reactions in those who are sensitive."
