I still won't risk trying a double as the memory of heaving my guts out is still too fresh.

I worked intensely on an election campaign for two months, working in a small room with a great deal of ambient noise and holding the phone very close to my left ear to be able to talk and listen, for at least 18 hours a day on average, and since then, my ear hurts. Seven months later it still hurts. The pain goes away if I do not use my cell phone. If I happen to answer it and hold it for not more than one minute, my ear begins to hurt again. The pain is constant although it eventually goes away. After doing research I found many online discussion groups about similar situations with Nokia phones.

I am presently trying very hard not to use my cell phone, I have a voice message that tells people I will call them back as soon as I get to a landline, or if they can text message since this is safer. I try to use the loudspeaker if I absolutely have to talk to someone and I am going to replace the phone with a more expensive one if I can find one that has been researched to emit the least amount of radiation. Really, I hope to get to a point where I do not use one at all, except have it in the glove compartment for emergencies.

IT WSA WELL NOTED EVEN IN THE 70'S BY GVMNT OFFICIALS ABOUT THE MICROWAVE OVERLOAD IN OUR ENVIRONMENT, MANY STUDIES WERE DONE AND MANY CONCLUIONS DRAWN. I BELIEVE ONE WAS THAT MICROWAVES DISTORTED EVEN THE FLYING PATTERNS OF THE HONEY BEE...THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT THE EVER INCREASING MICROEWAVE TRANS TOWERS POPPING UP, NOW IT IS CELLPH TOWERS.

IT WAS ALSO DISCUSSED AS TO HOW PERSONS THAT LIVED NEAR THE HIGH TENSION ELECT.GENERATING TOWERS HAD A HIGHER CASE OF VARIOUS CANCERS.

A FINAL NOTE....A GROUP OF STUDENTS TOOK FLOURESCENT LIGHT TUBES AND STUCK ONE END IN THE SOIL (GROUNDING THEM) AND LET THE OTHER ENDS POINT UP. UNDER NEATH THE TOWERS. THE FLOURESCENT TUBES "GLOWED"....

MY EX/SPRINT PHONE BATTERY WOULD GET VERY HOT AFTER 60-90 SECONDS OF OPS. I ASKED SPRINT ABOUT IT, FELT LIKE HOLDING A LIGHTBULB. " IT IS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT." I CHANGED PHONES AND IT DID THE SAME...TOSSED THE WHOLE MESS. FEARED THE BAT. WOULD EXPLODE....

WHAT YOU DONT KNOW "CAN AND IN MANY CASES WILL HURT YOU".

I would hate to be in a serious accident and have to ask to use someone's cell phone to call my family. But limiting the use to emergencies only is key.

Within seconds of having a cell phone next to my ear I get an immediate tightening feeling in the back of my head, along with an increased feeling of being "on edge" or slightly anxious.

Luckily the wired earbud that came with the phone works great - I can talk for hours without this happening. Interestingly, this didn't occur with my old cell phone that had a very simple text screen display on it. The fancy color screen on modern cell phones seems like it could be the root of my problem. My family has a history of seizure disorders, and I know I have a low seizure threshold, but my two other family members (who are both on anxiety/seizure medication - I'm not) don't seem to have a problem with their cells like I do.

Anyway, guess this might be a blessing in disguise because I'm forced to use the earbud and practice "safe cell".
