I'm looking for a link to a study I read (in paper, maybe a magazine, health journal, psychology dept. publishing,???) around 1989 regarding key factors what makes a person more likely to contract an STDs when exposed. I read it in hard copy, and would like to find it on the web now.

The study was comparing two groups, both of which had been exposed to an STD, one who'd contracted the disease and the other group who hadn't. I think it was AIDS (it would have been listed as AIDS, not HIV, I believe because of the year.

The results indicated that the single most dominate similarity in each group was their attitude toward sex being "healthy" or "unhealthy". This factor seemed to be primarily influenced by the early and formative sexual experiences. Attitudes of their parents towards sexuality, especially directed towards them, was a factor. Unfortunately the too common contributor to what ideas and attitudes were classified as unhealthy, came from those who'd experienced sexual abuse as a child or young person.

Anyway, if anyone ever finds this study or a similar one, PLEASE let me know.

It might have been more prudent to have carried out a large scale long term test, say one willing town for 20 years at least.

For sure some more women would have died of cervical cancer, but it is not sure how many more. That would be what this large scale long term test would have told us. I do think that there would be some town willing to log in on this. More importantly we would all be able to evaluate the results, be it of unexpected side effects or failure to protect, or simple reduction of incidence of cervical cancer.

We should not assume that we would see no reduction in death from cervical cancer if the town is being monitored for it very closely. Rather we should expect a significant reduction in deaths even if every woman in the town were on a placebo vaccination.

Just as a side bet, why not find a town willing to do its best with homeopathic supplements and medicines. Again, we should expect a reduction in death because of better surveillance. What we would be predicting would be a reduced incidence.

Pre-marital testing of both partners to ensure that neither is carrying the virus, and periodic retesting, along with no sex outside of marriage would appear to be the only foolproof way to use safe sex. It would probably improve protection rate from 70% to 95% if we can get reliable information on compliance.

If I correctly understand Dr Mercola's position on this, it is that we should do better testing on almost any drug that is proposed to be widely used. In particular, if there are legitimate grounds for doubt about either efficacy or safety.

Well, wish for this or not we now have a very widespread deployment which is going to effectively test the safety of the product, for good or for harm. Even if new people stop getting it now we will eventually know how safe it was until time for booster shots. We may not see as much of a reduction in deaths this way, because some women may now not bother with pap smear testing.

I would also like to add an interesting point to my earlier post. Despite having had two abnormal smears with fairly high grade changes in cells I have NEVER had an HPV test given to me by my Doctor or my Gynecologist. A pap smear picks up cell changes but to have a test for HPV typing you have to pay alot extra. In NZ it is about $300.00.

So how do I know which strain of HPV I have? or indeed do I have HPV at all? For all I know the cell changes may have been caused by something else? I know that experts state that ALL cases of cervical cancer come from a select few strains of the HPV virus but how many women are having HPV screening? When I asked my Gyne if I could have the test she said it was an expensive waste of time. It all seems a bit strange to me... That the strain type in the new vaccine is so important and yet the screening never has been.

How many women get an HPV test with every pap smear? I'd love some feedback on this. Maybe the wool is being pulled over our eyes even further than we even realise!

Human beings are not cattle, to be vaccinated and pumped up with drugs. We are individuals, capable of making our own choices. Yet we are being treated like feedlot cattle. Disgusting.

When I used to go to the quackery for my yearly "physical," they would always give me pap smears, knowing that I was a virgin. I had NO IDEA they were testing me for an STD. If I'd known, I never would have gone, and I never will again, sexually active or not.

Twelve years ago when I got my first "abnormal" Pap smear and evidence of HPV. I had a biopsy and the recommended tx was freezing off the end of my cervix. Now, I'm not a gynecologist, but that just sounded stupid to me! I needed an alternative, but didn't know what it was. Then a friend recommended an excellent book: Woman Heal Thyself by Jeanne Blum. In it, she gives a simple to use, FREE, protocol using the "forbidden points" of acupuncture during one's period. Simple, simple, simple! I started using it right away and during my very first use, my period which at that time normally lasted 9-10 days lasted only 6 days! That in itself was motivation! I stuck with it and within three months my cervix returned to normal. Of course, during that time, I received a letter every two weeks from the doctor I had seen that I was GOING TO DIE if I didn't submit to the prescribed tx! Yes, I changed doctors... I have not had an abnormal Pap since.

Actually, HPV does NOT cause cervical cancer. Unfortunately, this is difficult to retract as corporate media has influenced too many people. I thought I read on Mercola's site that he quoted Dr. Christiane Northrup, among other doctors, for her views on how HPV does not cause cervical cancer.

The main problem w/the Gardasil vaccine is the excessive neuro-toxic load of reactive aluminum used as an adjuvant. 675 mcgs. of aluminum in the 3-shot series. The cost, appx. $360, is borne by insurance cos. which you and I pay for even if we don't get this unnecessary ridiculous shot. And now boys are the next target as Merck needs to shore up its lost revenues from Vioxx, whereby 55,000 people died before the FDA pulled it. Years before it was recommended of the FDA to pull it, but Merck w/its ties to the FDA (check out the advisory boards for these drug cos. and the regulatory agencies) wanted to recoup its R & D (research & development) costs first.

The actual count, although it's probably higher as only appx. 10% of reactions are reported, is 29 girls. 17 girls died during clinicial trials which were rushed so as to beat a competitor (Eli Lilly?) to the market w/their own version of an HPV vaccine. Merck was also found guilty of hiding profits in offshore accounts to the tune of $4.85 billion and the University of Colorado sued them for proprietary info infringement. So they are hurting and are trying to find as many ways possible to boost their revenues.

Per a professor of genetics, the human papilloma virus is identical to a human neuron and when the vaccine enters the bloodstream, it indiscriminately goes after human neurons as well. This is where the neurological damage is occurring which is reported as: myalgia, rheumatoid and juvenile arthritis, seizures, loss of consciousness and Guillain-Barre, among other reactions.

90% of HPV clears by itself, and 80-85% of HPV can be detected by regular pap smears and cervical screenings.

I was diagnosed as having HPV about 12 years ago after having an abnormal pap. My GYN told me that it was a sexually transmitted disease that causes warts not only on the cervix, but also on hands and feet. I told her that when I was three years old I had to have plantar warts frozen off of my feet. I have only had one other occurrence with them on the soles of my feet since I was a child.

If I already was experiencing this as a child, could it be possible that I was born with this? Instead of vaccinating wouldn't it be wiser to encourage lifestyles that would enhance our immune systems to keep viruses like these at bay.

Genital warts are awful. I tried many things to get rid of them--special oil combinations designed to get rid of them and ultimately surgery. Despite the surgery they came back, and here's what I used to get rid of those that came back. Mix baking soda and castor liver oil into a fairly thick paste and apply just to each wart (not the surrounding skin) 2-3 times a day. Mix it fresh each time. Try it before you waste your $ on other more expensive things. Slight burning sensation, but its not bad (even if it hits the healthy skin).

If you're an MD, you should have no trouble understanding why people are angry and paranoid. They've been deceived by the medical establishment, pharmaceutical industry and their own government. Where would you have them go for the truth? The facts? To you? You've been drinking the same coolaide the pharmaceutical industry has been dispensing to the masses... only longer and in bigger gulps. Who does the studies? You? Of course not. Is adverse event reporting enforceable? Of course not. Who has the money? You? Of course not. The people? Of course not. The pharmaceutical industry? Billions. The government? Well, to quote George Will, "Let's just be glad we don't get all the government we're paying for." All that ends us up in the usual "catch 22", eh? The people who need the studies to keep the profiteers honest have no money to do the studies. The people who have the money to do the studies are, unfortunately, the profiteers and have no interest in being held accountable. The government complicity is so complete that we now have laws barring we the people from suing either the industry or the government when we believe they've harmed us. When one looks at the body of evidence (iatrogenic illness/death, pharmaceutical murder and FDA's outright refusal to protect the people from both), are you telling me that you see no reason for anger? As the old saw goes, "Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean the three (medical establishment, pharmaceutical industry, government) aren't out to get every dime they can from we the people - damn the consequences." When will Americans wake up to the swindle perpatrated by the government, and BIG PHARMA? We hear these commercials, and all we seem to hear is the benefits of said chemicals, never the down side. Are we so blank that we cannot see we are being taken for a ride? Do we not understand the FDA, is not on the side of the people, but on the side of industry?

No since the government does not force industry to give the down side as forcefully as the non-existant up side.

A friend of mine has cervical cancer at the moment (though nearly gone), diagnosed about six months ago, and is doing what we're calling 'mental battle' with her doctor. She was told "I told you you should've got the vaccine" when she was diagnosed, to which she replied "I'd rather have this than be dead". The doctor didn't see the funny side, as cancer is of course a death sentence (sarcasm).

She was given chemo drugs to take at home prior to surgery etc, which she wanted put off for 8 weeks. In the meantime she went to a naturopath and loaded up on whole foods, a vast number of high-quality vitamins, and laetrile. She went back to the doctor after the 8 weeks to see how it was going, and the doctor said

"Wow, that's amazing, the cancer is retreating really fast - the drugs are doing wonders!"

"No they aren't..."

"What do you mean?"

"I haven't taken any of them, I've been using vitamins and minerals and natural remedies the whole time."

"HOW CAN YOU EXPECT YOURSELF TO BE CURED USING QUACK TREATMENTS...etc etc"

She just smiled smugly, thanked the doctor for her time, and went home to her supplements.
