It is expected to increase to over $737 billion in 2008 and will top $1.0 trillion in 2013.
A recent report showed that a placebo is just as effective as an antidepressant. Now the drug companies must have known this 50 or 60 years ago when they first conducted the clinical trials.

However they have continued to foist their toxic, harmful, side effect laden compounds onto an unsuspecting public, all for the sake of money.

As they have lied about the merits of these types of drugs, what makes us think they can be trusted to tell us the truth about anything?

I agree that all diseases and illnesses are curable, it is the patients who are incurable because they would rather continue their toxic life styles and take "remedies" than change the way they think and behave. I know, because I used to be the same. The best books I have come across on this subject are the books by Louise Hays, for example, "You can heal your Life." When I first read it, I thought it made sense, but I didn't believe it. Ten years on and I now KNOW it is true.

If you want a possible answer with regard to the Truth, try www.ameril.net and find out the real meaning of life.

wishing you all much love and happiness,

I went to about 20 different MD's over the past 15 years because my insurance did not cover naturopathic health only to deteriorate more and more. When I was laid off and had to pay for medical care out of pocket I sosught out a naturopathic physician. On my first visit he detected my low thyroid and prescribed me bio-identical hormones to make up for what my body was not producing due to a hysterectomy. I lost 30 bls, feel great enough tot exercise again and am pain free. The allopathic medical system ought to be banned until education is in place to teach these morons the abc's of what actually works.

Then there is the science that is bought and paid for by those who only want to turn a dollar, and could care less about the health factors involved. So they hire scientists to lie to create studies that tell the public you need animal protein for a healthy life, amoung other lies. Such as tobacco is healthy, and does not harm. This is all done to turn a dollar.

These and other reasons are why Americans are unable to consume a healthy diet, and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Look closely, and at the root of bad medicine, poor diets, and the like you will find BIG PHARMA. Then there is the supression of knowledge, and the muddling of the truth. So much for FREE SPEECH.

Perhaps many have resigned themselves to letting the doctor decide their fate, since he/she is the professional.

I was livid.

What we REALLY need everyone to know are things like:

1) Donald Rumsfeld / Gilead stood to make billions with Tamiflu; was it any surprise the Bush regime stockpiled it to avert the oncoming "pandemic" that they warned our nation about?

2) Julie Gerberding of the CDC actually came out & said that bird-flu was NOT going to be the pandemic that mainstream media purported it to be -- but nary a report covered her statement (dwb.thenewstribune.com/.../5663764p-5080102c.html)

My dad was recently diagnosed with diabetes, and a book he has advised him to eat "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" over regular butter. What *I* can't believe is that this product BY LAW is allowed to say "No Trans Fat" even though its ingredients CLEARLY include hydrogenated vegetable oils! (This is "because the (FDA) allows food manufacturers to make the claim as long as each serving of the product has less than half a gram of trans fat. In a serving of 14g, this equates to up to 3.5% trans fat by weight" - see here: en.wikipedia.org/.../I_Can%27t_Believe_It%27s_Not_Butter.)

Thank goodness for sites like this, which speak truth to power. Big Pharma & Government have been in bed so long, but WE are the ones who need to wake up.

If everyone suddenly veto'd all overprocessed foods, all additives, all hydrogenated oils and all GM crops the world economy would collapse! There is a HUGE amount of money invested, plus the attendant advertising. If people then made an effort to include regular challenging and FUN exercise into their routines, this would soon be followed by a decrease in medicine intervention.....not near so many would need it.

It could well result in the collapse of civilisation as we know it. The next thing to fall would probably be the stock exchange. Investment in natural resources would still be profitable, but the market in relation to foodstuffs and medical care would be much less exciting.
