I was a psych nurse for 18 years and the polypharmacy I saw used to treat kids was frightening. This "unholy alliance" between physicians, many renown in their fields, and drug companies is far more widespread than the public is aware of. I highly recommend reading Melody Peterson's "Our Daily Meds" - it is a well-researched expose on these longstanding practices, among other violations of the public trust committed by Big Pharma on a regular basis. If you want to learn about ways to fight infections without the use of pharmaceuticals, investigate something called "MMS" and a man named Jim Humble. MMS (chlorine dioxide) clears bacteria, viruses and other pathogens from the body allowing the immune system to heal the body naturally - and it is inexpensive. It won't solve everything - you still have to eat right, take supplements and exercise to be healthy!

Earlier this morning I listened to a physician at St. Lukes babble out reasons for her hospital's use for administering cholesteral drugs to children. The news station that reported this admired obviously admired this monster and used noble-sounding adjectives galore.

I almost vomited into my mouth.

It's not just this pediatrician. The latest from the New York Times is that pediatricians are now recommending children be tested for high cholesterol and given drugs to treat it! Why not just recommend parents stop poisoning their children with fast foods such as hamburgers with cheese and bacon, french fries, chicken nuggets, soft drinks, etc.?

We Americans seem to be married to the idea that there's a pill to "cure" everything. We're lazy and out for the easy, instant fix instead of changing our habits. Exercise and a proper diet would go a long way to cure many of our modern ills!

Was Ewan Cameron reincarnated as Biederman??? This is SICKENING. Dr. Mercola's comments failed to mention how ADDICTIVE antipsychotics are. I quit Zyprixa (please pardon my sense of humor in the sp.) after only four months, and I got so sick I COULD BARELY WALK. I COULD HARDLY BREATHE!!! These toxins LOBOTOMIZE the victim. Not only did I get weight gain that has taken two years to get rid of after quitting the toxins, but I have yet to be able to feel joy the way I used to. I am depressed most of the time, and very embarrased over unimportant things. THIS IS NOT ME!!! It's BRAIN DAMAGE from the Zyprixa. And it's been over two years since I quit. And I'm a 35-year-old woman, not a 6-year-old. These drugs will destroy many, many childhoods. They will wipe out all joyous family memories. They will create apathy and amnesia, as they have done to me, They will dehumanize the human race.

Diet is the first thing to look at. With pocessed foods and Mc Donalds and even parents who may hear what is good for kids or themselves who don't change their ways. like my medical peers " ya have to die from something" that's what they say. Putting children on antipsychotic meds is so stupid, I have never heard of this in the past, and I am a psyc nurse. Eating flesh of crying animals being abused, sugar, sitting in front of a TV or video game, and wonder what is wrong. The world is so off balance, answers come out in all harmful ways. If we all do our best to eat right, spread the word, whether or not it is heard, or just be the power of attraction. What else can we do? Leila

My friend has a 7 yr old son, whose teacher recommended that the boy (John) be tested for ADD & ADHD and subsequently be medicated. This came as a complete shock to friends and family as John is an inteliigent, well adjusted and creative 7 yr old. The mom refused. The teacher not wanting to be ignored (probablly as a matter of pride) took the matter to the principle, who backed the recommendation. The mom still refused. The teacher with the backing of the school refused to continue to educate John. 3 years later John now is home schooled and is doing grade work well above his age level. He excells in many areas of life. He has many friends. John is a credit to his parents. Come to find out that as many as half of that teachers class were medicated. What was that teachers problem.....and why on earth can teachers even recommend that stuff????

Also, my sister is a teacher and she has a child who has to take medication in her yr 1 class. She is able to interact with him quite well before he takes it. He is loud, quite rambunctious, full of energy......oh wait.....he's a boy.....aren't they meant to be like that???? He responds really well to her authority as a teacher until.....he takes the medication.....within minutes he is completely non responsive and sits in class like a zombie for the rest of the day. My sister spent the first few days of teaching this class on the verge of tears just watching him.

Another friend took her 4 kids off all foods containing any HFCS, food dies, chemical sweeteners, etc and 2 of her kids who had been diagnosed ADD are no longer needing any help from so called psychiatrists. I should mention here that she started to "parent better" (her own words). She sets good safe limits and is consistant with her kids. Some would say she too strict with them........people who say that should note there is a lesson here, her kids no longer fall in the ADD category.

Who is going to help our young people...........

EXCEPT THIS TIME I TELL HER I WON'T WORK WITH DANNY UNLESS SHE MAKES SOME CHANGES IN HIS EATING HABITS (DON'T LIKE THE WORD DIET). DOCTOR AGREE'S BUT SAYS HE ALSO NEEDS DRUGS. DANNYS MOM AGREED WITH ME. DANNYS NOW 15, AND HE'S DOING GREAT IN SCHOOL. WHATS REALLY SCARY IS MOST PEOPLE (AND DOCTORS) DONT TAKE THE TIME TO SEE IF FOODS ETC WILL WORK. DOCTOR'S HAD OTHER PLANS FOR LITTLE JOHN. I TOLD THE MOTHER I WOULD DO MY PART AND SHE WOULD HAVE TO DO HER PART. MY PART WAS EASY TEACH JOHN KARATE. HER'S WAS THE HARD PART, I TOLD HER TO TAKE HIM OF SUGAR, OR AT LEAST CUT DOWN TO A VERY LITTLE AMOUNT NO MORE FROSTED FLAKES FOR BREAKFAST, NO FAST FOODS, AND GET SUN. LIKE I SAID I HAD THE EASY PART EXERCISE. DOCTORS TOLD HER, THATS GREAT BUT HE'S (ME) NOT A DOCTOR, HE'S A KARATE TEACHER. I believe one of our biggest problem is everyone complains about everything, but nothing gets done! I'm at least fairly sure if we would all stand together they would have to make changes! However if we continue to complain and do nothing, why would they change? When I was in the Navy we never had problems with the complainer, with them all you had to do is listen to their mouth. The ones who rarely said anything is the ones we watched! With me I was told many times "shut up" I complained about everything!

With the 85% of us who loves our God, our way of life and english as our language all we ever do is *** and we are good at it. IF we would come together as the 85% of American who wants what we have and without having to watch everything we say because we just might hurt someone feeling.We might have a chance to last as the wonderful nation we are and God might continue to Bless us!

I just pray, that the truth comes out, and noone has to suffer from Big Pharma again. I am constantly ridiculed; but I keep on speaking out.

With Bill C-51 and 52 on the horizon here in Canada, we are collectively holding our breathe. Our politicians are completely ignorant, even as they claim that they too take natural health care products; and yet, what comes out of their mouths are the same tired, party rhetoric based on complete ignorance, and in many cases, out of conflict of interest and greed.

When social agencies and governments intervene and threaten parents and take their kids away, it's no wonder that so many comply out of fear. Talks are given on a regular basis, to teachers and social workers, 'educating' them about 'disorders'. The hope is that, they will point their uneducated fingers at the next defenseless child; and then, drug them into submission.

Oh what brave new world which has such people in it.

Thirty years ago my daughter's school strongly advised she go on Ritalin, which over my good sense I allowed (FOR TWO WEEKS) then removed her from the drug.

It made her into a ZOMBIE.

I then bought the book, Feingold Diet for Hyperactives and put it into use.

The teacher asked me what I was giving her instead of Ritalin. When I told her she was amazed.

There was no push for intervention by social services, etc.

To me it was simple, do what was right for MY child over ANYONE'S objections.

This is the weakness in much of what we get in the way of scientific research. No matter the subject, If the money is right the results will be taylored to industry. So goes the results of studies of the products BIG PHARMA attacks us with, and ultimately destroys us with. Even that pales in comparison to our own FDA which does nothing in reality to protect the public.

I mean why do we have to NUKE our raw almonds, amoung other foods? The easy way out? You think?

Keep in mind that not only do antipsychotic drugs given to children and teens all too frequently harm or kill the kids taking them, they have also been implicated in ALMOST EVERY school shooting. Including Columbine and Virginia Tech.
