Legislators have attempted to ban pseudoephedrine but run into bitter opposition from those who claim that pseudoephedrine should be kept available to those who "need" it. As long as this mentality persists, that pseudoephedrine is necessary and useful, do you see any hope that the meth addiction epidemic will ever end ?

Meth lab operators can buy pseudoephedrine not only at local pharmacies but also on-line, from Pfizer, Canadian drug companies etc. There is a huge market for this drug, which is basically a NARCOTIC amphetamine.

Others try to divert attention from pseudoephedrine by claiming that meth can be made from lighter fluid and so on but you and I know that without pseudoephedrine there would be no meth.

I cannot recommend raw milk more highly!

My poor 86 year old mother was put on Fosamax for mild osteopenia at the end of 2002 and within months developed daily visual hallucinations and was given the diagnosis of Lewy Body Dementia! She was also hospitalized several times for "altered mental status" and out on Aricept and an antipsychotic. Finally, after 4 years of needless suffering of hallucinations and nightmares (but no cognitive failure as one would expect with dementia), I took her to see a specialist in Boston in March 2007 and he immediately recognized that her meds were causing neurologic problems. Within 10 days of Fosamax washout, her hallucinations stopped and have not returned. I was angry that 7 other MDs who had treated her had failed to recognize a connection, even though an article linking bisphosphonates to hallucinations in the elderly had been published (Pharmacotherapy. 2004 Jun;24(6):799-802)--they just kept piling on more meds for drug-induced side effects! Amazingly, all the joint and muscle pain that had been misdiagnosed as arthritis went away within a few weeks of Fosamax discontinuation as well.

A cardiologist decided in Sept. 2007 to put her back on a statin. While the hallucinations did not return, some confusion and short-term memory issues did. In November 2007 I finally convinced him to remove it from her meds and she is fine again. I saw her lab results in early July and her total cholesterol is 190 without being on a statin. But even if it were over 240, I would not want her to take a statin. As Islandersuggested, cholesterol is not a true enemy.

To which I said "BU_BYE! Took cat home, took apart the environment he lives in, vacuumed more times, use vinegar cleaner 2x a week in bed and bath area , changed litter to regular low dust no perfume litter, and changed food to Good Life Recipe for cats. Was feeding Purina Cat CHow with RED 40 and corn gluten crapola and meat by products and all that.

GUESS WHAT?? check-up with vet says-- GASP!! No asthma symptoms! Golly!

I did the same thing with my own asthma 21 1/2 years ago (minus the cat chow of course ) and told my people doctor BU BYE too. Saved a boatload of time money and grief.

Dont medicate yourself or your pets! Seek alternatives-they are worth it. LIFE is worth it.

I,to, have come close to doing myself in and it really is a bad feeling to think you're not good enough to live and with me it was another person who I let get me in this position.

The last time I was getting ready to do something stupid, I called my daughter, thinking maybe she might come over and take my mind off of what was happening to me. Of course she was busy! So I thought

"F" it and was in the process of taking the pills when my door bell rang. It was my daughter and my G-daughter, thankfully that was the end of that. She thought my voice sounded different,so she came over.

My doctor changed my med from one to Prozac and that changed my thinking pattern, I'm not saying I didn't have any more problems, but they were easier to deal with!

I have since found with Faith and Prayer they are no reason to depend on meds for everything. God works much better than drugs with no side effects!..............Good Luck!!

Of course, he was put on all kinds of drugs for it,but still couldn't get his blood glucose under control. Then he lost his medical coverage, and we couldn't afford the drugs. We had just about resigned ourselves that he would die early because of the diabetes. Then, someone recommended that I do some research, and find natural alternatives to the meds the docs kept pushing. The result was, I found out that cinnamon might be a big help,so I went out and bought him some cinnamon capsules, which he began to take daily.

Last month, he ended up in the hospital for chest pains. During his initial exam, we told the doc about his diabetes, and taking cinnamon for it. The doc rolled his eyes, and told my husband he would probably have to be put on insulin injections while he was there, especially because they wanted to do a cardiac catheterization on him, which would likely raise his blood glucose. So, the doc ordered blood glucose testing every 4 hours. The result? On the second day, the doctor came in and said he thought my hubby was mis-diagnosed, since not one of his blood glucose tests was outside the normal range.Hubby told him he didn't think 6 years of BG readings over 200, and as high as 400 could be diagnosed as anything other than diabetes. The doc mumbled something about there being no way the tests could be THAT far off,and walked out.Luckily, the chest pains turned out to be more stress related than anything, and there was no sign of damage to my husbands heart.

We also use vinegar for heartburn, and thanks to the success of the cinnamon, even my skeptical husband is determined to use more natural remedies.

She wanted to be taken of the drug, but was told that the out come of taking this drug far out ways the side effect. What's up with that? To me, NO man made medication is worth taking that causes these side effects. There are things on this earth to cure what ails us. People want a quick fix. People have become lazy, fast food, fast life, no excercise. Heck we don't even get up to change the channel on tv anymore. And doctors, they DON't want to cure you. People have become brained washed, thinking just because someone has many diplomas, went 8+ years to a school of some sort most know what they are doing. I just stumbled upon this site, but will be coming back often. Good information.

Sure some are worse than others, but there are no safe ones.

None.

Yes, you might need an anesthetic for surgery (which is grossly overdone, btw). But even that is interfering and hurting your health. It wil need to be detoxed out. Massive doses of Vitamin C AFTER (not before!) surgery can help in that regard. (Massive "C" before surgery can detox the anesthesia resulting in feeling the surgery. OUCH! )

It's best to stay away from all FDA-approved drugs. There is always (99%, that is) a plant or an enzyme or something that can offer a better outcome.

The best to you.

Oh, and Ketek is not the only dangerous antibiotic...doxycycline can cause kidney damage. My grandmother took Keflex (cephalexin) for a bout with cellulitis...it killed so much good bacteria in her system that C-diff (Google "Clostridium difficile") took hold and nearly killed her. 18 months later, she's still on very powerful probiotics and gets nervous whenever she's "not regular." What a way to "live"!
