If the conspiracy theory that the population of the world is to be reduced by 80% is correct, it'll be done by companies like Monsanto and BASF.

Oh by the way, you know those vitamins that you need because the food is so lacking in nutrition? Codex Alimentarius will ensure you won't be allowed those in meaningful amounts.

Unfortunately it even gets worse. Talk about corruption, and a TOTAL conflict of interests. So here is the worst part:

The story starts in the White House, where Monsanto often got its way by exerting disproportionate influence over policymakers via the “revolving door”. One example is Michael Taylor, who worked for Monsanto as an attorney before being appointed as deputy commissioner of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1991. While at the FDA, the authority that deals with all US food approvals, Taylor made crucial decisions that led to the approval of GE foods and crops. Then he returned to Monsanto, becoming the company’s vice president for public policy.

Thanks to these intimate links between Monsanto and government agencies, the US adopted GE foods and crops without proper testing, without consumer labeling and in spite of serious questions hanging over their safety. The bottom line is that they were planning these strategic moves all along back since before the 90's, SO THAT they would become the worlds leader in this industry, and of course obscenely wealthy.

Basically they have arranged through dubious political tactics to pass legislation, so that they never need to tell Americans anything about what they are doing to our foods. They're are no requirements via the FDA for disclosure. Hell, if someone is playing with the genes in my foods, I WANT TO KNOW ABOUT IT. IT IS MY RIGHT as a Citizen!!

To JJ72, you wonder that Monsanto et al wouldn't also be affected by their Franken Foods and seeds of destruction. Isn't that what the Doomsday Seed Vault in Norway is all about; saving the good heirloom and heritage seeds for themselves all the while claiming they are preserving precious seeds for the future. Seems kind of like an "ark" situation to me.

I have a very difficult time wrapping my head around the possibility that those at Monsanto could be inherently evil. How and why is this happening? Those who work for or at Monsanto seem to be convinced that they are involved in something good. So who or what is behind this deception? Does this really make any sense to any of you?

My grandfather-in-law worked at Monsanto in the St Louis area, he died with Alzheimer's, a heart aneurism, and "warts" inside his entire body. I think I would call them "Tumors". We used to occasionally drive past there in Souget Illinois, and the stink was so bad, your eyes would water. I told Hubby to stop going that way and leave town another way, even though it was only once or twice a year, we have stayed away for a long time. I have always known it was a bad company it is not a suprise to me.

One important fact that somehow manages to slip out each time Dr. Mercola writes about Monsanto:

MONSANTO IS PFIZER.

Because back in 2003, Pfizer bought Pharmacia (Pharmacia still remains the name in a small number of plants but is globally owned by Pfizer now), and Monsanto is a part of Pharmacia.

But they hide this fact very well so very few people are aware of it. Even Pfizer employees are not aware of the fact that Monsanto is, so to speak, the same company. And the plan works out very well, doesn't it? GMOs make people sick so they need more and more (Pfizer) drugs. Once you get this, it's not very far to the realization that the food processing industry is in on it as well.

And has anybody ever questioned the fact that practically ALL pharmaceutical corporations also own genetic engineering companies? They KNOW GMOs make people sick.

My husband worked for Monsanto for years. He still thinks fondly of those days (he sold roundup to farmer's when it was still on patent). He went on trips to Mardi Gras, Mexico, Vegas, with everything paid for by Monsanto. He ate a 4 star restaurants, had a company car, stayed in 4 star hotels.

(Un)fortunately this was before I met him.

Monsanto's board of directors traditionally comes from the financial/investment industry, the defense industry, packaged and fast food industries, and biotech and chemical industries... What would one think would come out of that...??!!!!

How could the people we trust with our lives, politicians, doctors, pharmacists and food manufacturers and growers get away with this? what can we do? the issue seems soooooooo much bigger than the average citizens of this country. It seems like in the other countries the citizens have spoken up against genetically modified food and their govenments are listening, ours seems to be in cohoots with Monsanto and all the other agribusiness companies and manufacturers. Look at the state of our population? its pathetic that the USA has the sickest population of the world!!!! clearly the government knows that what is being produced is the culprit, scientists have been advising about the peril of eating denaturalized food for years but our government turns a blind eye. there is a direct correlation between the increase in modern day diseases and food production, and science and government and corporations knew this, but in the interest of the almighty dollar we sacrafice quality of life. sad, very, very sad and frustrating, because I don't know what we can do about it. I read labels, I buy organic and local when ever possible but I don't know that its enough.

I agree with a boycott...I have been boycotting prepared foods for ages...it's not all that complicated - it is a mindset. If you are determined you can do it. I am very determined.

Let us join in a class action suit, to sue Monsanto. these madmen must be stopped.... If you read the book, the Lost Language of Plants by Stephen Harrod Buhner (amazon), you will realize just how out of touch we are with reality, and the plant world which is there to feed us and heal us. While a company like Monsanto is purely insane, the last 50 yrs with the advent of pesticides, pharmaceuticals and antibiotics have ravaged this planet. If we want to have something to leave to future generations, it is time to stop this outrage. In additon, while the pharmaceutical companies create jobs, they are creating havoc with our health. NEVER in the life of humans has a generations of people been so sick. it is a pure and indecent lie that is being perpetrated that people are living longer. People are being maimed and dying in droves due to iatrogenic causes. It will be a rare person who reaches age 80, if ALL and I mean ALL the food additives and toxins, E numbers and petroleum products (in food!) are not banned removed and destroyed...this has simply gone too far....

Get with it folks? Honestly, do any of you have a million or so bucks for pay offs? How are you going to do anything? Look at Wyeth and the bioidentical hormones,, look at this thing with Monsanto, look at the new approval of statins in kids?? Can you imagine? Statins in kids? Do you honestly think anyone cares what we think? They don't. We may win a small victory here and there like the conservative parents against the giardisil, but the war is over. and they have won. This is the future of the world. just try to take care of yourself, take your dietary supplements until they are illegal and don't have any more kids. and pray for the ones you do have.
