Yes you read that correctly -- my TOTAL cholesterol was a measly and pathetic 75 points. "

Then I read Samuri's post. "My cholesterol is a supposed perfect 140 and I have adrenal exhaustion.

Dr. Mercola is right; too low is bad."

In response to others, I also do better on the protien diet...I was a vegetarian at one time, which I think I might have screwed up something in my metabolism. Now putting one muscular weight has been a real challenge. I find that if I have a good meal of just vegetables/rice, etc. I wake up the next morning...feeling like a 16 wheeler is attached to me. But, as i last night...I had a small "supper" as the Ayurvedic says smaller meals at dinnertime. of Grassfed beef, broccoli some Thai potstickers. I then proceeded to finish tidying up the house. later I had a half coconut/chocolat macaroon and 3 glasses of raw milk before bed. Mind you, is is even in a house where the AC is out.

I felt wonderful this morning....it never fails me. I can always feel a surge of well-being the morning after a meal with high quality red meat. I don't eat it too often as I am concerned about uric acid later on, but I don't do mushrooms, beer or much asparagus.

And, as Samuri said, I too experienced exhuasted adrenals...after seeing a Chinese doctor a few years ago. Ok, here is the climax....are you ready! My cholesterol was down to 105. Now it is around 258 I think it is. LEF says it is a little high, and recommend I get back on my gym routine...I fell of the exercise program for a year, and as his article mentions above, I lost a family member suddenly, ended a 20 year friendhip over being rejected...for another human, but for material "things" On top of that, a serious emotiional upset with another family member. Based on this article, now I see how the numbers can run up. So, it is slowly back to the gym, meditating, affirming, etc. pulling myself to a better state of balance, meaning not a total state of balance, which can become stagnate. I have new projects and new friends/business partners. All is looking very promising. Thanks to those who posted and allowed me to have a couple of "Aha" moments.

My hubby went with my son to boyscout camp....He (my husband) has 5 children he is in charge of. He has to give medications to 4 of the 5 children daily..the only one not given medications is my son. One of the boys (they are all about 11 years old) is on Lipitor! (the rest are on ritalin or something similar...sad)....I have a hard time believing that parents are giving him this knowing the risks.....

It is not exactly my argument, it is the author of ' The China Study' (Colin Campbell MD) but I know what you mean. A friend of mine said something similiar.

I can only say (and you will have to read the whole book) that several doctors mentioned in the book were treating patients for heart disease, and ALL improved when their cholesterol levels went down.

About a third of the book is devoted to the politics of how information is suppressed, from Colin Campbell's own experience. It is scary stuff - not just Big Pharma, but hospitals, government and other doctors.

But doctors are paid by the pharmacutical companies to do this. SHAKLEE is known today in the medical field and many medical journals and publications to be the #1 leader in healthcare for its vitamins and nutrients in helping people with all sorts of conditions. Four things people should be taking to help balance their Cholesterol levels are: SHAKLEE "CHOLESTEROL REGULATION COMPLEX", "GLUCOSE REGULATION COMPLEX", "CoQHeart" and "Garlic Complex".

many, Many doctors are using the Shaklee products (they are organic 100% and they are clinical studied and researched) and do in their medical practice to help patients as well as hospitals, physical therapists, nurses, nurses aides, chiropractors and others. People today do not need to be drugged up and take all these prescription that COVER UP the problem. People we need to take charge of our lives and find better alternatives that get to the root of the problem that will help us feel better. If any of you would like more information on these great products that will retain normal Cholesterol levels, inhibit absorption of dietary cholesterol, increase HDL "good" cholesterol, prevent LDL cholesterol oxidation and much more.
Taken from 'The China Study' p78: ' As blood cholesterol levels in rural China rose in certain counties, the incidence of 'Western' diseases also increased. What made this so surprising was that Chinese levels were far lower than we had expected. Tthe average level of blood cholesterol was only 127 mg/dL, which is almost 100 points less than the American average (215 mg/dL)! Some counties had average levels as low as 94 mg/dL. For two groups of about 25 women in the inner part of China, average blood cholesterol was at the amazingly low level of 80 mg/dL.

....Our low values are near the high values for rural China. Indeed, in the US there was a myth that there might be health problems if cholesterol levels were below 150 mg/dL. If we followed that line of thinking, about 85% of the rural Chinese would appear to be in trouble. But the truth is quite different. Lower blood cholesterol levels are linked to lower rates of heart disease, cancer and other Western diseases, even at levels far below those considered 'safe' in the West.

I don't think so. Unfortunately the only way we can find out just how clogged up he is now, is to open up an artery and look - not willing to do that.

All this makes me wonder just how accurate are these tests and what are they really telling us anyway?!!

Also no-one told us to take COQ10 either - I had to find that info out while looking on the web, and our Doc cannot understand why we take it - some education needed here I think!
