Quote:

"To receive the greatest benefits, Type As should eliminate all meats from their diet." (pg 99)

      * Cereals 5-9x WEEK. Breads 3-5x DAILY or Muffins 1-2x DAILY

"Type As generally do well on cereals and grains , and you can eat these foods one or more times a day." (pg 107)

      Grains/Pasta 1 cup DRY 2-4 x week:

"Type As have a wonder cornucopia of choices in grains and pastas. These foods are excellent sources of vegetable protein. They can provide many of the nutrients that the Type A is no longer receiving from animal proteins" (pg 110)

Beans/Legumes: 1 cup DRY, 3-6 x week (This was in addition to soy - soy was a separate category in ER4YT under vegetables).

"Type As thrive on the vegetable proteins found in beans and legumes" (pg106)

----------------------------------

so, basically, what D'Adamo recommended for As in ER4YT was a low-fat vegetarian diet, with the main protein sources as soy, legumes, and grains with breads and muffins multiple times a day. No heavy or competitive sports, just gentle stress relieving exercise (like yoga).

so.. I wonder if these people saying that er4yt type A diet is low carb.. I wonder if they read the book themselves.

as for all the ABO specific lectins, as per the instructions on the Wiki discussion page for Blood Type diet, just go to D'Adamo's own Lectin database and do a search for "blood group", click ALL (for ALL keywords), and click on Specificity, then click enter. You will get 6 Lectins that are agglutinate only one blood type. That's it. 6.

It is not an exaggeration to state that such treatment amounts to 'doctor assisted suicide'.

The underlying problem is that while the growing epidemic of diabetes, both type 1 and type 2, is rightfully viewed as a looming crisis to most people it presents a huge growth opportunity for the pharmaceutical industry and the illness care industry in general. To them the great thing about diabetes is that once a diabetic has been primed on medications, including insulin, it is a virtually certainty that more and more medications will be required and prescribed not to gain any ground but to slow the progression of the disease so the patient can continue to require medications. A diabetic on medications is a cash cow on steroids to Big Pharma. There's nothing personal here. Just good business. And big business is good business.

When an MD who treats diabetics speaks in glowing terms about the benefits of the newest drugs marketed by Big Pharma he or she is most likely referring to the benefits conferred in the growth of their stock portfolio.

U It is thought he got staff infection at the home. Getting out of that hospital and home for a week, ended up back in. That hospital not equipped for his care, shipped to another hospital and there never left. His heart was only working 20 percent. Dr. said his brain was the only good organ. Husband and family had to make a decision. He passed away Oct. of '07....all this in 'bout 5 months! Getting him to understand his need to watch his eating and eating healthy and he didn't exercise at all....this whole diabetes thing is very frustrating to me and upsetting when people just don't understand they need to change. Maybe some, like dad, think they have to give up good tasting food. And the lies from Dr. and the FDA and drug companies...I whish I could just snap fingers and make people "see". We just need to get fighters out there and share stories and make fixing diabetic meals easy and fun along with easy and fun exercises. Maybe setting up group exercises appropriate for all ages. And mostly, reaching out to the children.

A website that helped me greatly:

www.deflame.com

Most people do not realize that conditions such as diabetes, chronic pain and disease are all caused or promoted by chronic inflammation.

When it comes to managing our own diabetes (or any pain and disease for that matter) we are in more control then we think. WE ARE WHAT WE EAT!!!! Lowering our inflammatory response to what we eat is the key. No nonsense and VERY SIMPLE.

Dietary factors are perhaps the key cause of chronic inflammation. That is because a pro-inflammatory diet can create inflammation even in those who are active, able to maintain normal weight, and who can control their stress levels. Thus, diet is the key link for increasing or decreasing inflammation. Numerous studies are being published every month that demonstrate how we can reduce inflammation with nutrition.

Deflame.com provides the following (and then some):

1. The latest information on the relationship among diet, nutritional supplements, inflammation, and the associated health risks.

2. The finest nutritional supplements to help reduce inflammation and promote health.

Deflame.com contains information for lay people and for doctors. The doctor’s section contains more complicated biochemical descriptions and pathways, as well as educational information for doctors [lay people are very much welcome to visit this section if they like].

Most importantly - deflame.com offers a set of guidelines you can download that will help guide you in proper dietary decisions for you and your family. Take them to the grocery store - post them on the fridge - just make it a part of your life and become empowered to control your own health. Also, sit back with a nice bowl of fruit and listen to the MP3's provided as these help greatly.

I hope this helps many - The answers have always been right at our fingertips and we DESERVE our BEST health.

Zinc seems to keep cropping up here, so I will repeat what I have posted before (don't remember where!). When I had severe candida - yeast overgrowth - some years ago, I eventually found I was very deficient in zinc. It's a simple 3 minute test. I took zinc and hydrochloric acid for a month - so I could absorb the zinc -then just stuck to the zinc.

I have had no problems since, but I was told recently I had 'rather high' blood sugar. As I was on a chocolate binge at the time, I'm not surprised! I have cut all that out, and hope next time I have it tested the level will be improved. It hasn't however, helped my hypothyroidism.

He slowly lost some weight, but still eats "convience foods" at home, and fast foods when they don't. He now gives himself a short daily for diabetes. My wife and I grow what we eat, and what we can't grow, we buy from other farms. My oldest daughter and her husband eat out and buy convience foods, both pre-diabetic, but thin. What you eat also effects cancer, I know that by 1st hand knowledge, I have a NHL, my gift from all the "conviences" of the 21st century I took advantage of. I manage mine with diet and herbs.

My hat is off to DR Mercola. Most I look through see to be on a mission from those making the money. Some started off honest enough, but soon found greener grass. I trust Dr Mercola, something that I usually don't do. His mission is health, real health. Personally, Thanks for all the good information DR.

Doing so makes YOU look unprofessional.

I have tried and continue to Eat Right for My Blood Type. You don't have time for me to tell you all the ailments that disappeared but let's just paraphrase and say that all my digestive, sinus and arthritis issues have been resolved. If I stray from eating what is appropriate for my blood type, the symptoms reappear. Not hype, but proven reality.

Blood type A's are not instructed to eat a high grain diet, btw. :-)

Diabetes is complicated.........as one person mentioned it can be hereditary in how we are taught to eat as children. My personal opinion is, this is probably alot more the culprit than inheriting it thru genetics.

I urge you to try ER4YT again.........to the letter. You'll find you'll feel like a million bucks. And please.......refrain from bashing Dr D'Adamo (or any other doctor for that matter). It doesn't look good on you. :-(

To my surprise

the worst offenders causing the Diabetes are 5 vaccines that children and adults are being injected NOW.

WARNING! Five of these vaccines have been linked to Diabetes.

In September 2000, Dr. Classen presented data at the International Public Conference on Vaccination proving vaccines are the largest cause of insulin dependent diabetes in children.

OK! Let's find out what Vaccines Dr Classen is talking about and take a look at how many of these shots and vaccines will your child get by the time they are 6 years old.

•	MMR 6 vaccines in 2 shots

•	DTaP 15 vaccines in 5 shots

•	HEP-B 4 vaccines in 4 shots

•	HIB 5 vaccines in 5 shots

•	PNEUMOCOCCAL (PCV) 5 vaccines in 5 shots

You can go here and get the full story.

www.squidoo.com/Detoxfromvaccinations

The one thing that you need to keep in mind is that if a child is borne from parents

That have the disease then vaccinating the child will cause for the Diabetes to show up very early in the child’s life.

So you people that are now getting the Diabetes as adults is because chances are that you were fully vaccinated as a child and although your parents did not have diabetes however they too were fully vaccinated. This means that now you will have greater chances to get the disease some time in your life time. So what are you to do? Follow the recommendations of Dr Mercola and DETOX ASAP.

I note below in another comment someone mentioned zinc which happens to me used also for dandruff shampoos and for colds. Anyway the short form in case no one wants to check out know the cause TV show or website is this according to Doug Kaufmann diabetes, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's, heart disease, arthritis, allergies, obesity, autism and most all forms of autoimmune diseases are caused by the pathways into you mostly though the nose and mouth. If you have had antibiotics in the past you may not know a lot of them are micotoxins. For example penicillin is a micotoxin. You breath in the spores for it all the time into your bloodsteam. You think it only affects bread left out for a week? Try living in a moldy home and see what will happen to you. He also states that all grains that are siloed with the exception of oats because it has natural beta glucan's in it to couteract systemic mycotic infection, are full of spores and mycotoxins. He sites may studies on this subject interviewed many doctors on this subject and yes even the big C cancer is caused by it to. Twice he has had the doctor interviewed on his TV on that subject who uses nothing more that a small amount of baking soda to kill all forms of it. You can check him out at www.cancerisafungus.com. The point is the reason all the different forms of supplements work and so fourth is because they all kill systemic fungal infection. Diets work because you are cutting out the siloed grains and fungus only food is sugar and that is why it starves the fungus. So starve the fungus eat colored orgainic foods and meat take antimicotic suppliments and watch it work.

Good Luck and may God grant you an answer to your problem.

I learned an important lesson just by reading the comments. Never give up! I have type 2 diabetes and I have been following Dr M's recommendations on metobolic type, eating 11 different vegetables 2 or 3 times per day, via the juice from them. Eating raw free range eggs, grass feed beef, wild salmon, sardines in olive oil, raw butter, raw milk. I also make kefir out of raw milk and drink that 2 or 3 times per day. My fat intake is olive oil, coconut oil or butter. I excerise 3 times per week at the gem and walk about 4 miles for the other days. This should cure my diabetes: but I mostly stay above 120 blood sugar when tested in the mornning. Discourgement!

I noticed the comment about the thyroid. I checked Dr. M's web site for a thyroid test. He had one, you paint a 3 square inch patch of iodine on your arm or stomach. If your iodine leval is normal it will disappear in about 48 hours. The speed of its disappearance before the 48 hours determines the degree of the lack of iodine in your body.

I did that and my patch disappeared in about 3 hours. I didt again the same day and it disappeared again in about 3 hours. This convinced me that I have low iodine which may be causing the resistance and longevity of my other problems.

My solution will be to take sea kelp supplements and 225 mcg per day of potassium iodine, I already use Dr. M's salt and his multi-vitiams. With this combination as well as continuing with my life style I will see if the other problems improve in a month or so. If not I will try something else.

Thanks for the information, Don

Good call on the Chiropractic care. I see my Chiropractor once a month to make sure that I'm at my best.

He doesn't demand that I should be there...........I want to be there. I want to be proactive in my health as I'm sure that everyone else at this site does too.

Chiropractic does not cure the body, it ( like cleansing ) enables your body to take care of itself.
